Stunning spacious 3 bedroom home (3 Queen beds in the main house plus 2 singles consisting of one king single and single trundler in the carpeted internal access garage) with 2 luxury bathrooms, polished concrete floors, top of the range fittings and everything you could possibly need in the Waterways canal development. With two lounges and magnificent kitchen opening up onto covered Alfresco outside dining, barbeque, decks and outside shower this is pure luxury for those wanting all the best things in life. There is a one bedroom completely separate apartment on the side for those looking for extra space which can also be rented at an extra charge should it be available and is also advertised on Air BnB under “Waterways Escape” but approach us separately if you are wishing to book both as this is a special price. This is a magnificent destination for those wanting only the best. There is a small private beach and private slipway 100 metres away should you wish to swim, kayak, paddleboard or launch a boat. The canal system means you can launch your boat without needing to wait in a queue over the busy summer periods. With a 3-5 minute drive to shops, cafes, Buffalo Beach and the Lost Springs - this is a very central location.

My recent stay at this Airbnb property was absolutely delightful! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the host's attention to detail and the cozy atmosphere they've created.The location is ideal - nestled in a quiet neighborhood yet close enough to attractions and amenities. The check-in process was seamless, and the host provided clear instructions that made settling in a breeze. The interior of the property is beautifully decorated, with modern furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing meals. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. They were responsive
This was the best airbnb stay I've ever had and I highly recommend it. I wondered if the other reviews were inflated but they weren't. 10/10. Everything was super clean, beautiful. The house was new and well stocked. The host was so pleasant and helpful. Everything was just wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was top notch. You won't be disappointed staying here. This was my family's first time in New Zealand (6 of us) and we loved staying in this location to explore the Coromandel area for 5 nights. We wish we had more time. It was the perfect spot and the perfect airbnb and the perfect host.
Couldn’t recommend Jennie’s place enough. Had everything the lads needed for their stay while fishing the Kubota fishing tournament. I didn’t get to meet Jennie. But my husband did. And he said she was super friendly, proactive and helpful host. Was awesome being able to put boat into the waterways close to accomodation. Highly recommend if you are planning a visit to Whitianga.

The house is amazing and exceeded all expectations. Jennie was extremely accommodating and an incredible host. I cannot say enough good things about the house, our stay and Jennie. I totally recommend this house. You will be very pleased!

Whitianga is one of the most popular destinations to stay on the Coromandel peninsula. A beautiful scenic drive around the Thames coastline and you will find yourself in the beautiful and vibrant Whitianga which not only offers beautiful beachside living but also offers spectacular living in the Waterways. Canal front homes are built on the water’s edge, all with private pontoons to moor their boats whilst all the other homes in the Waterways have access to private slipways to launch their boats, paddleboards, kayaks etc and there are small private beaches for those wishing to swim.
Things you might like to do while you're staying in Whitianga:
- Catch the ferry across to Front Beach (a lovely sandy beach) and stop at Cooks Café (Ferry Landing) for a whitebait fritter.
- Dig a hot pool at Hot Water Beach (at low tide) and while there visit Moko Artspace (24 Pye Place).
- Visit a local café – Coghill House Café (Coghill Street) is reliable or go slightly further afield to Colenso Gardens and Café.
- Go on a sea kayak tour with Cathedral Cove Kayak Tours from Hahei Beach to Cathedral Cove.
- Visit the hot pools at the Lost Spring (121A Cook Drive) and have a spa treatment while there.
- Do a charter fishing trip and catch your own dinner.
- Have a fun family day out at the Driving Creek Railway (380 Driving Creek Road), the Fun Zone family and adventure park (108 Kaimarama Road) or The Waterworks (471 The 309 Road)
- Visit some of the beautiful beaches slightly further north:
•Wharekaho - Simpsons Beach (good for boogie boarding and just a 2 minute drive over the hill),
•Otama or Opito Bay (and afterwards stop at Luke’s Kitchen in Kuaotunu for pizza or grab an ice cream from the Kuaotunu Store)
•New Chums Beach (a 30 minute walk from Whangapoua – has been voted as one of the world’s top 10 beaches!)
Whitianga has a local taxi company called Whiti Citi Cabs, most places are easy to walk to as Whitinaga is mostly flat and ideal for strolling around soaking up the beach vibes.
