Everything is within walking distance. Portobello Road for the antique, food, and clothing market as well as independent boutiques and great restaurants and bars. Golbourne Road is 10 minutes walk away and wonderful for browsing antique stalls, tasting delicious street food, and exploring quirky shops.
Notting Hill is a vibrant, trendy area, with casual cafes lining bohemian Portobello Road, famed for its busy market selling antiques and vintage fashion. High-end restaurants and upscale boutiques cluster around Westbourne Grove. It's full of trees and flowers and pastel-coloured houses, chic brunch spots, and charming boutique shops.
It is also the home of the annual Notting Hill Carnival, whose parades and calypso music reflect the area’s Caribbean roots.
You’re also within 15 minutes of Hyde Park and 20 minutes walk from Holland Park. 2 of the most beautiful parks in London. And you can walk to the Serpentine Galleries, V&A, or The Design Museum in 35 minutes.
You have two theatres on your doorstep – The Coronet Theatre and The Gate Theatre. You also have 2 cinemas within 10 minutes walk; The Electric Cinema and Gate Cinema. Both are over 100 years old and full of character. You can kick back, sip a glass of wine and relax.
Where to eat? Bars, coffee shops and restaurants. There are so many perfect brunch, lunch and dinner spots. Also great independent bars and pubs (eg The Cow & Cock & Bottle). Everything is within 10 minutes walk from my home. You will be spoilt for choice!
Hot tip! If you're eating out, I suggest booking in advance if you can, especially for Sunday brunch and Saturday dinner.
Thankfully, my street is a quiet, tree lined residential street. Very peaceful and hard to believe you're in central London.

Notting Hill is a fabulous neighbourhood right in the heart of London. You may never want to leave! But if you do, It's brilliant for transport links.
From Heathrow Airport take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington (25 mins) and then the tube from Paddington to Westbourne Park station on the Hammersmith and City line and Circle line (only 2 stops) – and my home is 3 mins walk from the tube station. Easy. And fast!
Transport - Notting Hill Gate Tube station (12 minutes walk away), is served by the Central line, the District line and the Circle line. Door to door - you can be in Bond Street, central London in 25 minutes.
Alternatively, Westbourne Park Tube station (3 minutes walk) on the Hammersmith and City line and Circle line – is perfect for Paddington (10 mins by tube) and Kings Cross and St Pancras (20 mins by tube).
Parking is quite tricky. And I don't have a residential parking permit.
