Welcome to Mountainside: The Nook, a boutique ski hill condo. Despite it's name, this studio condo is spacious and has everything a home base needs for a weekend spent adventuring in the Kootenays. Nestled against the Purcell Mountains, you have access to kilometres of forested area for downhill skiing, hiking and trail running. The Nook Hightlights: - Mid-century meets vintage design - Walking distance to skiing and golfing - Next to the Nordic Club - 5 min drive to the downtown "Platzl" Living Space You'll walk in the door to an entryway area equipped with a shelf, hooks, mirror and luggage stand. Our living space features two comfortable chairs and a table. The entertainment centre has a ROKU TV with streaming sites and some free channels. Kitchenette Our kitchenette is equipped with everything you need for a Sunday morning breakfast or quick meal-on-the-go. With our Boden pour over coffee maker, grinder and goose-neck kettle as well as locally roasted beans from Kickturn, we've got all your caffeine needs covered! Utilize our retro compact fridge to keep your beers cold or store your leftovers. Our open shelving features dinnerware, mugs and glasses and inside the cupboards you will find cookware and an electric hotplate. Bathroom Our recently renovated bathroom has a subway tiled bathtub shower combo and a vanity equipped with a hair dryer, single use makeup wipes and makeup towels. We are Gold Tier members of local The Mobile Refillery's "Sustainable and Circular Accommodation Program". This means we have eliminated single-use plastics and all bathroom & cleaning products get refilled rather than replaced. Sleeping Space The sleeping space features a new "Douglas" king sized mattress, crisp cotton sheets and a comfortable duvet. One bedside table has a wireless charging station with a nightlight and Bluetooth speaker, and the other houses our vintage reading material. Pool Hot Tub & Sauna You will have access to the condo's shared outdoor pool during summer months - the perfect way to cool down after a day of adventuring. Inside the main building there is a retro hot tub area, sauna and coin laundry. Be sure to check out the views from the walk around patio of the main building too! PLEASE NOTE: - In the winter months the stairs and path down to the studio can be icy and is quite dark at night. We ask that guests use a phone flashlight when possible and use caution - This unit is part of a condo complex built in the 1980s and there is another rental unit upstairs so please be aware that there may be some noise transfer between units. There is a double locking door between units to ensure guests safety, as well as noise absorbing curtains on either side of the door. We do ask guests to respect our "quiet hours" however due to the nature of this building some of the noise transfer is unavoidable Please contact us if you have any questions about the space or the area in general.
