It was built in 1865, the year the Civil War ended, so it comes with lots of history. The living room is adorned with photos of our family from the mid to late 19th Century, the early 20th Century as well as a great photo of the Averill family when they lived here, standing in front of the house...wood sidewalk included! The upstairs was originally built as an attic so the steps to the upstairs are steep and uneven (frankly, if you have bad knees, while not impossible, it could be very difficult to go upstairs). Because the house is old, it does have some old house quirks...like uneven floors, single pane (and in most cases, original wavy glass) windows and small rooms. The kitchen and bathrooms, however, are modern, and fully stocked. You'll find extra towels, if needed. The kitchen has plenty of cooking supplies; even for baking!
