The architectural roots of the house is from the Victorian era. A small terraced property with a classic valley roof built for workers in the then thriving docks. It survived the extensive bombing of the docks during the second world war to be re-born! The boxy original layout has been dispensed with in favour of a thoroughly modern architect designed makeover providing bright and spacious flexible accommodation. Arriving in a shared entrance to the host's ground floor living space, the sweeping curved stairwell places you neatly in what feels like a self-contained unit on the first floor. Two double bedrooms, each with their own en-suite, are connected by a landing area with a tidy kitchenette. One is a twin bed room (which can be formatted as super king as required) with an ensuite that has a bath with shower over. The other room is King bed with ensuite walk-in large shower. Both rooms are centrally heated with ceiling fans for circulating warm air or cooling in the summer. The first floor bedrooms have exclusive use of this small studio kitchen with combi oven/grill/microwave, large fridge, hob, dishwasher and kettle tap. Each room can be locked as can the door at the bottom of the stairs to the upstairs "apartment". The rooms and the "apartment" have separate listing so that you can book to suit requirements.

The host was excellent in communication and responded promptly to all my inquiries. She was also accommodating with an early check-in and late check-out, making us feel very welcome. The apartment is bright, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood is safe and conveniently located near good grocery stores and restaurants. I highly recommend this listing.
An excellent place to stay in the Surrey Quays area of SE London. Only a 5 min walk to the Overground Station with multiple coffee houses enroute. A 10 min walk to the massive Tesco grocery store. Checking in and out was a breeze. Claire responds quickly to any comments. It was quite comfortable for 4 adults. I do recommend dining at Bellucci's a block away. Easy to walk right past this unassuming and excellent Italian restaurant.
Wir haben uns in Claires Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles war wie beschrieben und die Lage war toll. Nette Restaurants in der Nähe und fußläufig erreichbar. Auch zwei U-Bahnstationen gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und der Bus nach Greenwich praktisch vor der Tür. Die Kommunikation mit Claire war super und sie hat uns viele gute Tipps und Empfehlungen gegeben. Wir können die Unterkunft empfehlen. Vielen Dank Claire!
Die Lage ist top. Man hat verschiedene Möglichkeiten Einkaufen oder Essen zu gehen. Gleich um die Ecke ist die Surrey Station und man kommt von dort überall hin. Das Apartment war sehr gemütlich und die Betten schön weich. Das einzige was zu bemängeln wäre, dass die Küche und der Tisch auf den Bildern größer erscheint. Für 4 Leute war kochen oder essen in der Wohnung eher schwierig. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Claire war eine super Gastgeberin die jederzeit gut erreichbar war und uns den ein oder anderen Tipp gegeben hat was unseren Urlaub anging. Preisleistung auf jeden Fall top!

* The Pear Tree Inn - Aussie-run restaurant with great Asian fusion dishes to suit all tastes, with super wine and 20% off Wednesdays!
* Bellucci - Warm eatery offering pasta, arancini & pizzas with innovative bases, plus outdoor dining.
Numerous other Coffee shops, Deli's , supermarkets, Pubs and restaurants are 10-15 mins walk away
You can pick up the Overground at Surrey Quays or Canada Water and head under the river to Wapping, then into the City Fringe at Whitechapel and Shoreditch High Street, and further towards Islington, Hackney and Dalston. Southbound takes you to New Cross, Crystal Palace and Croydon.
Canada Water is also a stop on the Jubilee Line, whisking you to Canary Wharf in just three minutes, or westwards to London Bridge, Waterloo, Westminster and Bond Street.
Above ground, and offering perhaps the most romantic way to travel through London, multiple river bus services stop at Greenland Surrey Quays Pier.
And if that wasn't enough, numerous bus routes skirt nearby the house, day and night.
