It is situated just outside Penybontfawr, where there is a pub/restaurant and a village shop 1½ miles away, and a family butcher just 5 miles away. Lying between the Berwyn Mountains and the Hirnant Forest, this quiet village is just a short distance from both Lake Vyrnwy and Lake Bala. The towns of Oswestry, Welshpool and Shrewsbury are situated nearby, and all offer a large range of independent bars, shops and restaurants for guests to enjoy. All areas of mid and North Wales are easily accessible from the lodge. The Snowdonia National Park starts on top of the Berwyns, and you will find many places to visit for a day trip, including a white-water rafting centre, sailing at Lake Bala, the mountain biking centre, Bounce Below and Zip World at Blaenau Ffestiniog.
