Wonderful stay in this beautiful stone house! The view is amazing... a very quiet neighborhood, peaceful. The views of the amazing sunsets were incredible. Matilda is a great host and left us a few goodies in the fridge, easy check-in and check-out. We will be returning!

We really enjoyed staying at Matilda’s beautiful stone house. The view from the windows is spectacular, everything is just like the picture or even better! And the house is very clean. There is a white cat with black tail(a street cat) comes by sometimes, we enjoyed feeding him some food, he is very smart and gentle. We call him Loki, hope the future guest will also make a good friend with him:)

Das Haus von Matilda bietet alles was es verspricht. Die Bilder sind authentisch. Das Haus ist schnuckelig und sehr ruhig gelegen. Man benötigt allerdings einen fahrbaren Untersatz, da das Häuschen am Hang liegt. In der Nähe gibt es ein Restaurant mit traditioneller Küche. Matilda als Gastgeberin ist spitze, sie ist immer erreichbar und sehr aufmerksam. Wir haben unsere Zeit in Bast sehr genossen und können nur sagen: gerne wieder.

First and foremost, this is a very special place with very special hosts. Initially, we were not sure what to expect when we booked this place for over a month during winter and without having a car but were very pleasantly surprised. Our hosts gave us a really warm welcome on arrival, complete with delicious cake and food essentials stocked in the fridge. Throughout our stay they were consistently highly attentive and generous and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. We were offered tasty desserts, traditional Croatian dishes and even homemade olive oil. Their warm hospitality is something we are genuinely grateful for and will remember for a long time. The stone house, located in a quiet village surrounded by picturesque mountains and spectacular sea-and-sunset views, offers a unique experience that cannot be had in an apartment in the city. We enjoyed the tranquility and privacy and the fresh mountain air plus the opportunities to explore the surrounding nature by climbing higher up the village to enjoy more spectacular views or walking along the splendid and super-clean beaches of the Makarska Riviera. We can see how a car can be an asset while staying here but we stayed for an extended period without a car and had a great experience. A 35-minute walk gets you to Baska Voda town, complete with multiple supermarkets, restaurants, beaches and a bus stop where you can catch bus services to the big cities of Makarska (15 minutes) and Split (1 hour). The house was super-clean, spacious and fully-equipped. We're big on cooking and baking and appreciate a quality kitchen and we found everything we needed readily available in the kitchen. We especially enjoyed the experience of starting the fire in the wood stove, grilling vegetables in its cooking compartment while relaxing by the warmth and coziness of the fire in the evening. We are really grateful to our hosts and consider ourselves fortunate to have had an extended stay in this high quality accommodation. Hvala Matilda and Ivo!
