My wife and had our 32nd anniversary there April 20-28, 2024. House includes a great dock with really good fishing. Sunrise and sunset they were hitting top water. Caught trout, drum, and blues and stripers. Sunsets were beautiful. Played golf twice at HPCC. Course was fun. Greens were good, fairways OK. Tight course with lots of water. There is also NC game land nearby for hunting. Beware of the swarms of mosquitos once the sun sets and before it rises. Had a day trip to Morehead City and Beaufort. Explored New Bern and went to farmers market and Tryon Palace. House has nice screened in porch as well as a deck. Well equipped kitchen with very sharp knives! (good for filleting fish!). Comfortable beds. House needs a bigger TV in the living room and an outdoor grill would have been nice. Enjoyed our stay.
A bit of an angelic stay. We were so pleased with the home from the start. The house has a lovely layout. The nice and clean beautiful home had a great dock to sit on. My wife and two girls spent time tanning on it. Saw fish jumping all around and even a dolphin! Enjoyed walking on the street and meeting friendly neighbors. Went to the beach a few days for fun shelling. My wife and daughters like to cook and the kitchen had everything they wanted and was set up so nice. Truly a wonderful stay!

We spent the holiday weekend visiting family in Fairfield Harbor and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We wished the days were longer so that we could enjoy the outside more. Beautiful dock to the river and lots of wildlife to watch. A great place to view the sunrise and sunset, both inside and outside! Overall we enjoyed our stay, personal preferences towards the firmness of the beds and pillows was the only thing our gang wasn’t in agreement about. Again it was personal preference. The host was very responsive when we had questions about the house, we appreciate the quick communication! Would stay here again!
We truly enjoyed our stay. However, the main gate was not informed of our coming. Access to house code was not clear. We tried lockbox downstairs first instead of front door upstairs. Front door was open when we finally found the correct entrance. Lighting in living room not conducive for reading. We suggest a bath mat for upstairs bathtub as it's quite slippery & my daughter slipped but caught herself. We were comfortable and loved the view, screened deck & woods looking out to the river. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. We did have a very pleasant stay & hope our suggestions are helpful. New Bern is a very quaint & interesting town that we learned much regarding it's history.
