Arguably one of the best located houses in Luz; although we do not have a dramatic view of the beach, we are tucked away in a tranquil corner just seconds from all the action.
What we like best:
- heading to the beach and back with no shoes, and its totally flat.
- nipping back home to use the toilet instead of using the public beach ones (a personal favourite)
- rolling out of bed for coffee and breakfast at one of the beach cafes (best coffee is at Bombordo or Endless Summer)
- walking our toddler to the swings and slide on the beach, and always making new friends there
- the sea in the summer is calm and friendly for children, swimmers and water sports
- the sea in the winter is great for surfers (check out the Black Rock, to the left in the summer)
and not TOO cold (for the Atlantic)
- The community, its so friendly here! Mix of ex-pats and Portuguese, a ton of young families like ourselves, nomads and hipsters (mainly found at the trendy new Santa-da-Luz or The Studio, or hanging out in their camper-vans).
- The proximity to the tasty restaurants, artisan shops and buzz of beautiful Lagos, 5 minutes by car or UBER
- The walkable supermarkets of Babtista and Spar stock all your home comforts (although the import tax does make them pricier)

Mostly, you don't need a vehicle once you have arrived in Luz. Everything you need is on your door step. You can also access the coastal path in moments, and be on your way to the neighbouring beaches and towns either side of Luz.
There are buses to Lagos that go frequently in the summer, and less so in the winter
An UBER to Lagos will set you back about 5 / 10 euros
Rarely parking an issue, even though you are moments from the beach. Usually its easy enough to park right outside the door, or on the side of the house
