Beautifully presented, Moorlands is a spacious and welcoming home from home with 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin room, 2 reception rooms, on-drive parking for 2 cars, a pleasant rear garden and a study. This family house is based in Crossgate Moor, 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk away from the world heritage site of Durham City Centre with its Norman Cathedral and beautiful river walks. Suitable for any occasion, be it exploring the county or a business trip, Moorlands has plenty to offer! Moorlands really is a home from home with everything provided to enable you to enjoy a brilliant stay. The property benefits from a fully equipped kitchen and nice tableware to use at the solid oak 6 seat dining table. We start you off with a fresh pint of milk in the fridge. Cooking oil, filter coffee, as well as ample teabags, instant coffee and sugar are also left for you to enjoy. Get a good night's sleep in our hotel quality bedding and comfortable beds. Towels, shampoo, shower gels and soap are provided in the bathrooms. All wardrobes have hangers ready at your disposal and extra pillows and blankets are available should you need them. Laundry products, including clothes basket, an iron, ironing board and both inside and outdoor airers mean that you can save on the washing when you get home! Finally, we welcome little people. A highchair, travel cot and stairgates are available on request. Please mention them at booking.

We used Moorlands as a base for two couples to explore Durham, and it did not disappoint! The home was spacious and beautiful, it’s walkable to a bunch of amenities, and so peaceful and quiet. We had a lovely stay.
Had a lovely stay at Stephanie’s place. It’s a great house, very clean and spacious for our family of 5. We would definitely like to stay again. Easy to park our big car on the driveway. Just very comfortable and a home away from home. Stephanie was readily available and a pleasure to communicate with. Thanks for a great stay.

Stephanie was really great with providing instructions on accessing the property and living within it. We found everything we needed to make some basic meals in the kitchen. There was plenty of living space for our group of 6 people, including 2 parking spaces in the driveway. We attempted the walk from the property to Durham town centre and it was quicker than I expected. Just be aware that it’s a steep walk downhill in parts. Hence, we just got a taxi back to help my ageing parents. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking to explore Durham or the wider County Durham/Northumberland as everything was easily accessible within a short drive. There is a smaller local supermarket within walking distance or a larger supermarket within a short driving distance.
Lovely “ home from home” with added touches which were very welcoming -such as fresh milk in the fridge,ground coffee and cooking essentials. Everything beautifully clean and ready for use. Crossgate Moor is a residential area on the edge of Durham City.
It is a great base for exploring the historic sites of the city as well as the wider area, with many family suitable attractions only a short car ride away - e.g. Kynren, Broom House Farm, Diggerland and the nearby coasts of Seaham and Seaburn.
There is a Sainbury's Local store a few minutes away for any last minute purchases. Larger supermarkets and other shops are 10 minutes away at the Arnison Centre.
Nightlife in Durham is varied with a theatre, two cinemas and many bars and restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. Various events often take place in the surroundings of the Cathedral, said to be one of the oldest and finest examples of Norman architecture in England and certainly a spectacular backdrop to any production.
For business and other travellers, there are great transport links into the city as well as local towns such as Gateshead, Newcastle and Sunderland.
This property is a short drive from the City Centre and railway station, with frequent bus links available. There is parking for up to 2 cars on the front drive with some street parking also available.
For those guests who like to walk, you can be in the centre of town in around 20-25 minutes. The route is all downhill. If you prefer not to walk back up steep hills, there are plenty of ubers and taxis available in town to get you home from an evening out.
Please note, Moorlands is located on a main road but traffic, during evening hours, is minimal.
