The Historic Mayhill Hotel overlooking the gorgeous Rio Penasco River Valley offers a cooling and scenic getaway for you and your family. Come enjoy the mountains and wind down in our newly remodeled rooms. Come and experience a room in the historic Mayhill Hotel. Enter the hotel and check into your room, recently remodeled. Your private bathroom is located directly across from your room, and has also been remodeled. Guests are encouraged to relax in the commons loft, make a cup of coffee and step outside onto the spacious balcony. Balcony includes rocking chairs, and one heck of a view!!

we needed a place to stay overnight. we ended up booking the room super late in the evening. it was really fast response time. it's a historical building. the bathroom is separate from the room, but still private. both bathroom and bedroom have keypad locks set with a code. shower was a great size, the room had a nice electric fireplace for ambience. it's a touch loud in the morning because there's a cafe downstairs. but not so loud that its obnoxious. the co-host was extremely helpful. communication was top notch. the price was fantastic. breakfast in the cafe downstairs was wonderful, though be prepared for large portions! can't ask for much more from a building of this age. it was beautiful inside, the pictures don't do it justice at all. 9.5/10 would stay here again, highly recommend.

Mayhill Cafe is directly below your room. Dine in or order take out, either way…you won’t be disappointed! There is a spacious grassy park across the street with picnic benches. The Old Country Store is also next door, as well as a unique little gift shop directly across the street…gifts for the entire fam!!
You can park in the back of the motel and enter through the back entrance, avoiding the stairs. Entry code is the same for both entrances.

I grew up in the Sacramento Mountain range and have traversed over much of its landscape. After graduating with a bachelors in Geology from New Mexico State in 2020, I moved to Artesia, NM and became a field Geologist for over 3 years. The mountain range over that period of time never stopped nagging at me to come back. After hardly any thought I moved near the small town of Mayhill, NM to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery with my wife.
