The Secret Slough was exactly what we were looking for: a little adventure and exploration for all ages, beautiful scenery, incredible morning fog lifting off the lake, peaceful, quiet, slightly rustic but with all the necessary comforts. Pros: Wonderful fire pit right outside main living space so everyone feels connected. Great kitchen/living room layout for hanging out. Lots of games, toys, puzzles for many ages. Lovely scenery, very secluded, just you and nature, and the neighborhood dog Cooper that briefly visited each morning (very friendly and energetic). Large group, never ran out of hot water! Cons: One thing to be aware of that wasn’t clear on the listing is that the kids bunk room is essentially a hallway/pass-through to get to the 3rd and 4th bedrooms. Can be tricky if you have light sleepers. One other small inconvenience: boat room curtains are not darkening so it gets bright in the AM in that room only. Overall, would recommend! Thanks Colleen!

This place truly is a secret. Tucked away with incredible view of the lake from the living room. Waking up every morning to the view was so lovely. Going outside…silent, I am not sure if it is as peaceful in the summer but this time of the year we didn’t see or hear anyone. It had rained and the next day I was sitting out on the porch and I could hear water rushing like a waterfall…and yes there it was steps away from the porch. My kids loved climbing around the property and exploring the natural beauty around. The home was very cozy. The table didn’t fit my big ole family but we made it work and there were extra stools that we used. The beds were comfortable, clean and the master bath tub is huge!! Definitely felt like home and restful. We weren’t ready to leave that’s for sure!

Great place to hang out and get away from it all. House was perfect size for our group and the hosts were quick to respond with any questions we had. Would recommend to family and friends.

We had an absolute blast. It was cozy, peaceful, and amenities were immaculate. Colleen was a wonderful host and we will book here again.
