Amberley West Sussex · 整套小木屋 · 1室2床1.0卫 · 可住3人 · Nightingale Cabin
Nestled in the village of Amberley at the foot of the Downs. The hand-built, eco-friendly wood cabin is in the shaded, far corner of the 1 acre plot, facing south towards downland, across fields and a small pond where water birds gather. The cabin is full of rustic charm. It is a completely secluded and tranquil place, ideal for nature lovers and those seeking a short-term escape from the hassle and bustle of city life. It provides a perfect retreat for writers or artists. The cabin is a perfect hideaway for two people, but it can comfortably accommodate up to four, and children are very welcome. Outside there is a large decking area plus a large grassed-in area all South facing, but secluded by the trees. There are seats and a fire-pit for gathering around on cooler nights, wood is provided. Inside the layout is open plan. The kitchen area is fitted with a hob, oven, microwave and general kitchen utensils. The dining/living area has a large table, a double sofa bed and a TV. There is a doorway partitioned by a thick curtain that leads into the bedroom with a King size bed, wardrobe and a work table. There’s a spacious en-suite shower room and toilet. A large log burner in the main area heats the entire cabin, but there are also two electric radiators for colder weather. The cabin is a wonderful place to visit in all the seasons – warm and cosy in the cooler months and blessed with dappled light during hot summer months.
Loved staying in this cabin for a few nights! Very peaceful. Rosie was a responsive, helpful host!
Had a really nice stay in Nightingale Cabin. Although it is on the owners land it is a private secluded cabin in a lovely village. The cabin was just as it appears in the listings and with a welcome stock of foodstuffs to help you settle in, relax and feel at home. Rosie was the perfect host - keen to help and occasionally checking via message that all was OK, but not intrusive and respectful of the desire for quiet time away from it all. I would definitely consider going back.
The perfect stay! Rosie and Leigh's cabin is tucked away in Amberley Village, easily accessed by car or train, the design and finish in the cabin is impressive, they clearly take pride in this home. We particularly enjoyed slow mornings at the cabin with the windows and doors open, listening to the birds and the trees. Thanks to our wonderful hosts!
Rosie’s place was cute and cosy and a fantastic experience for my wife and I. She was nearby and made a lot of effort to make sure we were taken care of and even gave recommendations on the surrounding area. It rained pretty constantly but we were still able to get out and even being indoors the cabin was a treat. Thanks very much for having us- I’ve already recommended it to my friends.
Come and explore this beautiful spot in the heart of the South Downs National Park. It is an ideal place for cyclists and walkers with the South Downs Way, and the Wetlands Nature Reserve, right on the doorstep.
Amberley is a typically picturesque Sussex village. It has a well-stocked shop/ post office, a café/tea house, and The Black Horse pub/boutique hotel offering gourmet meals with garden views of the Downs. A short walk away is the Sportsman Pub with spectacular views overlooking the Wild-brooks.
The cabin is a 15min walk away from Amberley Train Station with main-line services to Brighton & the south coast & London is 1 hour 20 mins away.
There are numerous attractions to suit all tastes in the area: the seaside is only a 20 minute drive away, as are the historic market towns of Arundel and Petworth. The impressive Elizabethan Parham house and gardens are even closer, and Amberley Museum is easy walking distance. The well-known Pig restaurant (with fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers and their own kitchen garden) is situated in the village of Madehurst, a few miles down the road. The famous Goodwood racecourse is within easy driving distance, and there are at least three easily accessible cycle paths over the Downs or more challenging such as the magical 64 mile Serpent’s Trail.
The local amenities of the shop, tea room and pub are 5 mins walk from the cabin. Car parking is along Church Street or in the village car park. Supermarkets are a 10 minute drive away & the local train station with free parking is a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk serving the south coast, Brighton & London.

I’m a designer and live with my partner Leigh and two children. We have two cats, Coco & Kasper, who although delightful company- are not allowed into the cabin! As a family we are committed to sustainable living, and have been busy with building projects to fulfil our aims. At present we are developing the garden into a haven for wildlife, and a source of organic food.
