Crystal Lakes · 整套小木屋 · 1室0床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Under the Moon Cabin on the Lake
This 1970s lakefront cedar cabin is nestled into a wooded acre on Crystal Lakes, a spring fed lake with historical healing waters, 8 minutes from downtown Excelsior Springs and less than 40 minutes outside of Kansas City. This home is your haven to tune in to the rhythms of the seasons, to slow down and connect back with yourself or the one you love. The cabin's design imitates nature with its high ceilings and large windows, filling the space with natural light and immersing you into the surroundings. There is one bedroom with a queen sized bed, one bathroom, and a stocked kitchen. The furnishings pay homage to the simple things in life and bring a feeling of modern nostalgia. Drifting your memories to times of summer camp and vacations to the mountains. The living room has a cozy couch, vintage vinyl player and a well-stocked bookshelf, encouraging you to sink into the moment by yourself or with someone you love. The wood burning fireplace adds to the ambiance during colder seasons. A complimentary start of firewood (5-6 logs) is provided for every reservation. If you need more, it is available on site for $5 a bundle of 5 logs. Outside the home awaits a paradise of wildlife, including resident eagles. The wooded lakefront land is rightfully the star of the show. Take a canoe out on the lake, get your hands in the dirt tending to a community garden or end your day under the stars with a bonfire by the water. For those who prefer to spend their time cooking outside, there is a grill and dining set on the large deck attached to the cabin. Intentionally this home does not have screens of any kind. However, we do have wifi for those looking to work remotely. All household products have been thoughtfully chosen to be organic and natural, creating a toxin free environment and freeing your mind to focus on healing and relaxation. The Elms Resort and Spa is 10 minutes from the cabin and offers day passes for anyone wanting to use the grottos or spa facilities. Watkins Mill State Park is under 15 minutes from the cabin along with a handful of wineries all under a 20 minute drive. The Hall of Waters is also an amazing free activity to learn the unique history of Excelsior Springs.
Very restorative. Come when the weather permits leaving the windows open so you can hear the birds and frogs. We saw a group of hawks, lots of geese and ducks and even 2 Eagles. The space was comforting and we very much enjoyed the Vinyl and record player.
This place met our expectations and more! Out of the way - but close to a decent amount for us, not that you’ll wanna leave the lakeside dwelling for long. Definitely drew us right in with its natural comforts and plenty of nice touches to make the stay even more worth the while. An interesting collection of records and books to enjoy fireside - with quite the sound system to boot. We also took notice of thoughtful lighting and fixtures. Little pieces that made it that much more unique and enchanting. Nice neighbors, communicative and wonderful hosts, beautiful views in a secluded spot on the water. What more could you ask for?
What a wonderful and tranquil space not far from KC. If you’re looking for a space go have a spiritual retreat with yourself or someone you love this is the space. Everything is in place to be able to clear your mind and focus. Gorgeous home with a beautiful view of the water and nature. At night the stars are big and it’s incredibly quiet.
Rylie & Austin’s place is quiet & beautiful - great for a weekend away. They live here sometimes, so it feels like they’re really sharing their home (what Air BnB intended before people began buying & renting otherwise vacant properties). The unexpected personal touches they left for us were kind & extra hospitable. Taking the canoe out was easy, and the cabin was cozy. It was 40-60 degrees outside while we were there, but we never needed to turn on the heat inside. A small caveat: If there’s an item you need or really want during your stay, consider confirming it ahead of time. When we booked, the listing mentioned a dining room, fireplace, dishwasher and board games. We only found a deck of cards & a puzzle; they asked us not to use the fireplace or dishwasher; and we saw what looked like a dining room table outside near the garage - perhaps awaiting its finishing touches. But they left us wood & s’more ingredients for a bonfire outside, and an amazing sound system inside! 🔥🎶
