After booking the host (to my understanding this as a team, not just one person) messaged in the app asking for additional fees on top of the final price in the app that should include all costs. When I tried to understand what this was about they repeatedly avoided my questions, refused to acknowledge the fact that they are asking for more than I agreed to pay when I booked, and were very much unresponsive and unprofessional. My booking was non-refundable and for days they had $2000 of my money and insisted I need to agree to pay the extra unnegotiated 500 euro or I won't get the key. In addition, I had a delay and wanted to pickup the key a day later. The host said I need to call the house owner and sort it out myself. I tried explaining I am not in my home country and I'm unable to make phone calls and got no response. I had to ask Airbnb support to intervene and ended up having a refund issued and the booking canceled by them. Terrible experience. Do not recommend.
