We are a few families celebrated Easter weekend at this lake house. We really had a great time. The real house looks better than the pictures, especially the decorations in the basement. The owner put a lot of thoughts into this house. They have a chief’s kitchen and we cooked all our meals there. We did not use the downstairs bar, but they have “a thousands” drink fridges down there. I am pretty sure if you are into cocktail, you will love that bar. We kayaked, made s’mores for the kids. Kids played on the small beach. They made sand castles there. The host was very responsive and very helpful with all our questions. Highly recommended place to stay!

The house was not only beautiful, it also had everything we needed. The large kitchen and basement were perfect for our group of friends. "Proper Stay" was respectful, responsive and very clear with all their guidelines for the stay. We would love to visit again during the warmer months! Thank you again for the hospitality!

This lovely house is amazing! The whole family and friends loved it! We were here for our special occasion and we had such a great time, we enjoyed every moment! Definitely planning to come back again!

We had a wonderful time at the Koontz Lake House! Our trip was with a large group of friends as a winter weekend getaway. From the photos, we believed we knew what to expect but once we arrived, we realized we were getting so much more! We were all so thankful. The house was clean and extremely accommodating to our larger group. The kitchen had tons of space for groceries and we enjoyed cooking every meal together and having comfortable space for everyone to gather. I would recommend doing a grocery pick up beforehand, which we did, because there is not a grocery store right nearby. The downstairs area was perfectly laid out with pool table, cards table, and couch area. Since we stayed 2 nights, we had originally considered heading up to Michigan for the day, but ended up spending the whole trip in the house because the space the was just that great for us. The hosts were responsive, helpful, and very considerate of making us feel welcome. I would love to stay again, thank you!

This place was great, but our host experience wasn't. We had 3 guests that were unsure if they could make it so I didn't include them in the reservation. 2 weeks before our reservation, they found out they could make it. I asked the host to make sure that these guests could come. They charged us $500 per guest ($1500), which is the same as what they charge for breaking the rules and bringing more guests without telling them. I understand it was a last minute addition, but I've never had a fee this expensive before. I asked for the fee to be reduced but the owners did not budge. They were "stressed about hosting our group since they normally only host families" and were worried we would throw a party or get complaints from neighbors, despite 5+ years of positive reviews from other Airbnb hosts. Since it was so close to our reservation, there were no good places still available, so we had to pay the fee. It is sad that we were not trusted, otherwise, we would've liked to stay here again.
