The room I stayed in was fine, but what I really liked was being in the nicest square of Casco Viejo, in a historical building, with access to a rooftop (huge vultures included). The view from my room was nothing special (the next building is actually in ruins), but the view from the rooftop was splendid. The swimming pool was empty, but I didn’t mind. It was a little eery never to meet any of the staff, as it left you with a slightly paranoid feeling that you might be constantly spied upon. I would have particularly liked to meet Mauricio, who seems to have something of a monopoly on the Airbnb’s in the area: is he a real person? Is he some kind of Airbnb kingpin? I can’t help imagining some kind of suave but ruthless Lex Luthor hiding behind a room rental business his diabolical world-conquering plan!
On our first night, torrential rains caused internal damage. Mauricio responded instantly - provided alternate accommodation, that surpassed our original booking, in many ways. His customer service is impeccable, and his staff clearly understand how important this is.
Clean room, great air conditioning, perfect location. Mauricio is an excellent host, and great communicator. He runs several properties, and is extremely professional.
This place was great for the location and for the space itself. Everything was walkable and lots to see and do close by. The host was very responsive and secured airport transport for us. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. I only have 3 complaints: no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom, so bring your own. There is a hallway light that stays on all the time and shines through a top window over the door. So, if you like to sleep in darkness, it's a problem. Also, although there are pics of the rooftop view, access was locked when we tried to go up there. Otherwise, a great space.
Awesome place at a great location. When something went wrong (heavy rain caused water damage in my original apartment) with my booking Mauricio reached out preemptive and arranged a new place, which turned out to be even better than the original place.
