Buckholts · 整套民居 · 2室3床2.0卫 · 可住6人 · Starlight Cabin~Peaceful Countryside w/ Longhorns
The Starlight Cabin is the actual guest house for a working Longhorn cattle ranch. Although not a large acreage by Texas standards (48 acres,) this special location is perfect for those who wish to get out and away from the usual crowds. It is peaceful and isolated. This is a pet friendly property, and we do charge a $45 one time fee for pets (no exceptions). This fee covers 1 or 2 pets, and helps us keep this place available for guests with furry family members. Starlight Cabin The Starlight Cabin is located on a 48 acre ranchette located about 18 miles east of Temple, Texas. This secluded, spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin comfortably sleeps 6 ($25 fee per person over 4 people), and serves as the “guest house” for the property and is located about 200 yards from the main house. This property is a working ranch with a small number of registered longhorn cattle, which freely roam the property. The home itself is approximately 1200+ sf with both bedrooms fitted with their own bathrooms and walk-in closets. There is a nice kitchen, living space with a large, screened-in porch across the back. The living space includes a sleeper sofa. Situated atop the highest elevation of the ranch, the views are plentiful, with a beautiful lake and rolling terrain, featuring lovely grassland, dotted with trees. Located in sparsely populated Milam county, wildlife abounds…deer, coyotes, bobcats, hawks, eagles and other critters frequent the area and are routinely spotted. Expect stunning nighttime star gazing and refreshing daytime panoramic views. Get away from the grind, put your mobile phone away, build yourself a campfire in the fire pit, and roast yourself some marshmallows or s’mores while you enjoy fresh air and the peace and tranquility of country living. But don’t worry, you won’t be “off grid” or anything like that. AT&T internet is provided, and there are 3 smart TV sets (living and in both bedrooms). Plus, you are just a short ride away from the Temple and Belton areas where there is plenty to do and see along with many delicious dining opportunities. Multi-zone a/c and heating means you can set your room to fit your temperature needs. Sit in the spacious screened-in porch while sipping on your coffee and during cooler weather you might start a fire in the wood burning stove to add warmth and create a cozy evening indoors. Whatever you do, you will enjoy this unforgettable and wonderful getaway experience, and you will be pleasantly surprised with both the quality and the privacy of this unique space.
Host was excellent at communicating. Home was cute and cozy. So peaceful to watch the cows in the fields. Would highly recommend
This place was better than expected. It felt like a brand new home and had everything you could ever need. I will definitely rent it again! The communication and instructions were great! I loved having the Longhorns in the front yard....we even got to see a brand new baby! It was so peaceful setting on the screened in porch looking over the land! Thank you, Melissa and Jim for such great hospitality!
We had a great time at the cabin! Place was very clean, comfortable and as described. There is lots of area to walk around and explore. Very peaceful and serene getaway. Amenities were all provided and hosts were great at communicating and very responsive to any needs we had. Thank you!
Melissa’s home was beautiful! The home was spotless. The living room furniture was comfortable with cozy blankets provided. The beds were comfortable with soft (non scratchy) sheets, blankets, and quilts. The heating/AC units worked well and allowed you to keep different rooms at different temperatures. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and utensils. The view from the front of the house is breathtaking! We enjoyed watching the longhorns graze and roam around the property. Even though the house is away from the bigger cities, it is easily within driving distance. We visited Austin, College Park, Temple, and Waco. We are already planning our next trip!
This area is mainly a ranching and farming community. It is unlikely you will have any interactions with anyone, but if you do, they are usually very friendly and helpful.
The roads immediately around the ranch are gravel, and should be traveled slowly. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and there is a fenced area around the cabin, where you should keep the gate closed if you do not want the Longhorns to come in and scratch their heads on your vehicle.
