Spacious and quiet 160 m2 apartment on 2 floors plus a mezzanine with a large balcony and great views on the Glarner Alps. Main/Lower floor: - 2 bedrooms (master bedroom with a king-size bed and bedroom#2 with a queen-size bed) -2 bathrooms (one with bathtub/shower accessible from the master bedroom, one with shower in the hallway) - open living/dining room - fully equipped kitchen - wrap-around balcony Galerie/Upper floor: -open format (~60 m2) with 1 single bed Mezzanine: -2 single beds On the main floor, there is a huge and very comfortable couch, and a large dining table to gather with your friends and family to share a delicious meal (up to 8 people). The kitchen is fully equipped and has access to the balcony through a small winter garden. You will find all the basics for cooking (salt, different spices, oil, vinegar, tea, coffee). A large, wrap-around balcony faces south and east and can be accessed via either the living room or kitchen. The gallery (first floor) is large and open. It is perfect for doing yoga (5 yoga mats on hand) or anything that requires lots of space. It has an interior balcony overlooking the living area below, making for very high ceilings.

We highly recommend these accommodations and location! This apartment was better than it's photos as the hosts have continued renovation work to make it more beautiful and enjoyable. The check in process was great. We arrived a little earlier than we expected and the hosts were very accommodating. They were friendly and helpful in orienting us to the apartment and to staying in the small town of Amden. The apartment itself was very beautiful, clean, and the kitchen had everything we could need to make meals for a large family. Some of our favorite features were the wrap around porch and large windows in the living and dining rooms that overlook the lake, town, and Alps. Words cannot describe the beauty of this place! The little town has two great grocery stores, plenty of hiking trails, and fun shops to explore. We loved our stay so much that we extended it! We cannot recommend this more highly and how to come back again one day!

The lake (Walensee) is a 5 minute drive down the road, or a 10 minute ride with the bus. In the summer, take a refreshing swim in its turquoise water after a nice long hike, or spend the day at the Badi by the lake. For our non-Swiss visitors, a Badi is a public “bath” or swimming area, where you can come swim, cool off on grass beaches or wooden decks over the water, sunbathe, socialize, eat, drink, and simply enjoy being outside in the warm weather. It's free, you can stay there all day long and there is a restaurant.
Many hikes begin right at the apartment’s doorstep, and several more hiking options are a short bus ride away. You can also hike down to the lake (to Weesen or Betlis), it takes a bit less than a hour and you go down 450m in elevation. You can ride the bus back up from the bus stop Fli Seestern.
We are happy to provide information on surrounding hikes, restaurants etc. In the apartment you will find some information/brochures with local activities etc.
In the winter, there is a ski lift just a few minutes walk from the apartment (Mattstock) or you can take the bus or driveto Arvenbüel, where a second ski resort awaits you.
A bakery, a Spar (both even open on Sunday morning) and a Volg (small supermarkets) are located a few minutes’ walk from the apartment.
The bus stop is a 2-minute walk away. The buses in the direction of Ziegelbrücke or Arvenbüel go every 30 minutes. If you have a ski ticket, the bus to Arvenbüel is free.
There are 2 private parking spots available (one indoor, one outdoor).
