We had a wonderful stay and Jassi ji and Gurpreet ji's place. We are especially grateful for the extra efforts made by Gurpreet ji to accommodate our requests with food for our toddler. Despite the main kitchen being under renovation, no effort was spared to provide us with really delicious meals. All the help in daily planning of itineraries, booking of cabs etc. made it very easy for us. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Jashmish Cottage. It is a nice cozy place conveniently connected to main Dharamshala. This was out first experience with Airbnb and we would call it a ‘good learning’. There were hits and misses but overall, it was fine. What we liked - The view of the mountains from the terrace. - The availability of a kitchenette, we were able to make our own tea. - The nice sitting area right outside the room. - The closeness to Norbulingka and other good eateries on the main road. - The super tasty and wholesome meals cooked by Gurpreet ji. She deserves 11/10 for it. - The well-equipped room with abundant light and comfortable bed. It is like a proper 3-star hotel room. - The wi-fi connection has good speed. - Jassi and Gurpreet, the hosts, are loving, caring and friendly people. If you love to have conversations, you'll enjoy their company. The not-so-good things - The cottage is bang on a decently busy road, so there is a lot of vehicular movement and noise throughout the day. We couldn't enjoy the 'sounds and silence of nature' (e.g birds calls) because of this noise. - There's another house right next to the cottage and the windows of that house are pretty much in front of the rooms and the outside sitting area. It did feel like lack of privacy and solitude. - Apart from the verandah there's isn't much space on the property where one can enjoy walks/solitude, as the owners have their own house towards the inner side. - There's some junk (like a tin shed, a broken door, broken branches of trees) lying behind and on one of the sides of the kitchenette, not a good sight on a vacation, we'd say. There's a lot of scope to turn the outdoors into a great space which is aesthetically done. - The staircase to the terrace doesn't have a railing and the terrace doesn't have a boundary wall, so we wouldn't consider this as safe for a family with young children. - The parking space, if you are traveling by your own car, is limited. We have a compact sedan so it was just about fine, with a proper SUV it would be a challenge. In a nutshell, we liked the convenient location of the property but being nature and solitude lovers, things like limited open space, busy road and lack of nature trails in the vicinity didn't work for us. If you are looking for a space which is well connected to Dharamshala, Mcleodganj and Palampur - this is a good option. But we wouldn't recommend it for people who are die-hard lovers of nature, silence and solitude.

Jasvinder ji and Gurpreet ji are one of the best hosts you would find on Airbnb. The home is impeccably impressive and takes care of all the necessities in the best possible manner. Cleanliness, location, good food, amazing ambience, super awesome hospitality are few of the things which would become your memories when you would visit Jassi ji”s home. He is a born story teller and you would enjoy his company so much that you would feel like extending your stay. Jassi hi and Gurpreet ji, thanks for everything and we will meet again soon!!

It was a pleasure to stay with Jaswinder Ji. I would say, it felt like just another home away from home. The room was chastely decorated and very neatly kept. He and his daughter Jasika not just delighted us with their healthy organic dishes that they cooked themselves for us but also sat through each meal engaging us in meaningful conversations just like our own family. Jaswinder Ji helped us plan our itinerary each day and even connected us with relevant people as necessary. Thank you for making our holiday so memorable Jaswinder Ji.

Jasvinder uncle and Gurpreet aunty's place is like no other. Nestled away from the main city, it affords beautiful views of the mountains and provide a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Do not forget to check out uncle's personal recommendations for food joints nearby. And if you don't feel like going out, aunty's home-made meals are amongst the best in the area. We really appreciated the personal care they took to check up on us and our well being. We will definitely be back for a 2nd innings at their place.
