Walk 200 yards along the gravel road through hayfields into Big Bottom WMA, an area reminiscent of Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. Mitchell Ford Kayak Launch Point is less than 1 mile away. Put in here for a gentle float on the Caney Fork River that flows into the flat water behind the Rock Island State Park dam. A trailhead to the impressive 110’ Virgin Falls is under 2 miles away, as is the easily accessible Lost Creek Waterfall and Cave where Disney filmed scenes for the Jungle Book. Follow the road through Lost Creek to see the historic Dog Cove and on through working Mennonite farms enroute to Sparta, TN for shopping, dining, craft breweries, local art and more.
