If you are looking for a large coastal house, beautifully presented in every respect, with the emphasis on cool styling, easy living and ultimate relaxation while, at the same time, being utterly practical, then look no further. If you are multi-generational family, two families that like to holiday together or a group of friends, you will love this house. Old Mill House, an attractive detached Victorian holiday home of traditional brick and flint construction, sits right in the heart of the desirable village of Brancaster. Tucked quietly out of the way away in a secluded private location, while still having very easy access to all the local delights this village has to offer - a great pub, a village shop selling delicious local produce and, of course, it's stunning beach which it is renowned for. Extended and refurbished in 2022 to a very high standard, the house maintains some of its original character while blending harmoniously with the new extension that opens up the house to a superb, large sociable kitchen/dining/living space with a warm glow from a funky neon sign; just the place to congregate, chill-out, catch up and chat after an active day out and about in this fabulous coastal area. The extremely well-equipped kitchen has all Bosch appliances, including two eye level ovens, and a large American fridge/freezer which has both filtered water and an ice making machine. There's a choice of both formal and informal dining areas at either the table or a breakfast bar. Here too, french doors welcome the outside in, when the mood takes you. A small snug area at the far end of the room has a sofa, and a Smart television built into the dresser to keep you entertained, along with games and jigsaws. Across the entrance hallway, is an elegant panelled sitting room with sumptuous corner sofa, a wood burning stove and another Smart television for when you choose to curl up and watch a film or your favourite series on catch up, and maybe a post Sunday lunch snooze! Also on this floor is a separate utility room with laundry facilities including a traditional pulley clothes airer, a wine fridge, space for a dog bed and a cloakroom. The boot room beyond is made for drying wet coats and dirty boots, and a boiler room with a clothes rail, is a great location for hanging a wet suit. Upstairs on the first floor are five inviting bedrooms, the master with super-king bed, television and steps leading down to a fabulous bathroom, a king-size room, also with an en-suite, another super-king bed that splits to provide twin beds if preferred, a twin bedded room and, lastly, a 'cabin' room with a nautical theme and bespoke bunk beds - each room has been given their own individual personality with gorgeous fabrics, calm hues on the walls and luxurious beds with beautiful bedding to encourage a wonderful night's sleep. A separate bathroom with a walk-in shower completes the scene. Outside the house has a spacious, fully-enclosed private garden with plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and where dogs and children can play safely within sight. There is a sunken patio for alfresco dining sitting beneath a raised lawn. Facing south, this is a very sunny spot and perfect for soaking up the sun's rays throughout the day and early evening. An outside shower, with dog bath for smaller dogs, beside the back door is just the thing for cleaning up sandy paws and little toes. Additional Information: Two well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Pillows and duvets are feather filled. Charcoal barbecue. Nespresso coffee machine takes standard pods (please bring your own). Travel cot, high chair and stair gate are all provided (please request at point of booking).

Home to Brancaster Staithe Sailing Club, you can also elect to book a boat trip with Branta Cruises and enjoy a day out at Scolt Head Island which is owned and run by the National Trust. This island is a must do, so find a way of getting there. Fresh seafood and coffee can be had from the shed on the hard (in high season) or you can visit the The Jolly Sailors where muddy boots are most welcome. For more formal dining book a table in advance at The White Horse which provides a spectacular view of the marshes from its conservatory/terrace and where you can enjoy the local seafood and relaxed, grown-up dining, whilst watching the tide come in over the marsh and creeks. The Fish Shed on the main road at Brancaster Staithe provides the opportunity to take home some fresh fish and produce too. A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous mussels, in season when there is an 'R' in the month - buy from the hard at Brancaster Staithe or from Mervyn on the main road who harvests them from the beds at the bottom of his garden! Fresh crab is on sale a few doors up. Kayaks and boats can be hired locally too but make sure you know the tides. There are shops and a cafe and Fat Face clothing stores at Burnham Deepdale.
