The animals made it a wonderful weekend while we visited friends. Sitting by the fire pit Yogi and Tonk the largest of the five Grizzly bears seemed to stay nearby, as if they liked our company. When we went by the younger bears cage they came running to see us. When we went by to see the camel and burros they came by to see us as well. Where else can you sleep within 30 feet of two large Grizzly bears, probably only here! The cabin was more rustic than we expected. The owners were out of town when we were there, but the caretaker had the key waiting for us when we arrived. Having a refrigerator with a real freezer made refreezing blue ice for the cooler nice for the return trip.

Hidden gem! Book now. ;) For any dark sky lovers, this place has the perfect view of the stars. We saw so many constellations and even a couple of planets with our naked eye. Having the fire pit was an unexpected bonus. Oh, plus they have a camel that is so sweet. Definitely book immediately if you want peace and happiness in your cabin stay.

Tonk’s cabin amidst Alabama's serene countryside! Our stay was highlighted by the charming company of farm animals and the rare, awe-inspiring sight of bears. The hosts provided a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Their attention to detail and commitment to comfort is evident in every aspect of the experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature!

Wonderful stay! I had no idea when we booked this location that there would be BEARS literally in front of the cabin. I loved the location, the price, and the looks of the cabin… the bears and other animals were an EXTREME added bonus. It was such a fun experience, the bears were happy and fun to watch. The location was secluded and had much for us to do. My only regret is that I didn’t plan to stay longer. Can’t wait to come back!
