Kayla’s place is a hidden gem in Newport! Right off the river with a peaceful garden and beach front. We arrived in early spring so we couldn’t witness the garden in its full effect, but the nature of the trees surrounding us made for a peaceful location. I stayed with my husband and our dog to get away from the city and enjoy something relaxing and we got just that. The hot tub was perfect with a view of the water and a few walks to the beach was perfect to stretch our pups legs. Staying just the two of us felt perfect in size. I could see 4 adults taking the space but the down stairs room is more difficult to access (spiral out outdoor stairs) and has a smaller bathroom. This house is not designed for anyone who has trouble with stairs. Still for us it was great! We also enjoyed Kayla’s local suggestion and grabbed food from Kelly’s and shopped at the Shanty! Great owners and workers in both! We also had a fun time with the constant geese migration and bird watching!

We were looking for a staycation as an excuse to relax over the long weekend and this cozy cabin fit the bill! A great location that was easy to find and not far from town to make a grocery or pizza run. Kayla and Chad have thought of everything and the place is really lovely. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans and new appliances. There are fresh linens and plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed walking to the river, getting in the hot tub while it snowed, and just cozying up to read. We had a great time and hope to come back in the summer to see the garden in bloom!

Kayla was a lovely host. Her home showcases her passion for lighthouses, which is unique and unexpected for an Idaho river cabin. The river is on display from one bedroom and the living room, where you can cozy up by the fire to do some writing or cocoa sipping by winter. I felt safe, cozy, and surrounded by nature.

Kayla was very responsive. The place is beautiful and lots of personal touches as well as guest extras. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back next time we're in the area.
