Situated in the peaceful countryside of Central Portugal and with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, Quinta do Passal is a little gem. Blending old-world charm with modern comfort, this picturesque bed and breakfast, once the home of the local bishop and steeped in tradition, offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Portuguese farming life. Honeymoon Suite with king size bed, double shower, mini kitchen, private entrance and views of the village church on one side and the pastoral farmland on the other.

We had a lovely stay in the Honeymoon Suite! The room is very spaceous, with a most comfortable bed and a great place to escape behind thick walls from the outside heat. The breakfast is an absolute must - a bountiful spread, brought on a huge tray with a lovely and tasty selection of delicious food. The view is amazing and we enjoyed the quiet countryside very much! The hosts were absolutely lovely, always reachable when needed and provided excellent tips.

We stayed at Aran’s (and amazing Joanna!) for two beautiful nights. The peaceful village Arega, and the house that is situated in the heart of the village were exactly what we wished for. Lots of things to do around (a river to swim, hiking, restaurants…) The house itself is WOW! The old house is completely renovated, and our room was spacious and romantic. Joanna’s breakfasts were rich and healthy. Thank you Joanna. Aran and Joanna knowledge of the area, their availability, and most importantly, their warm kind natures, made our stay unforgettable! Quinta do Passal is located 10 mins drive from the river Alge where you can find water activities, cafes, fishing, swimming and boating. There are also many hiking trails through the forests and along the river's edge. The river beach of Sao Simao is approximately 15 minutes away, and the historic cities of Coimbra and Tomar are approximately 30-40 minutes drive.

Joanna and Aran discovered Portgual five years ago when Aran, a documentary filmmaker, while on location. They immediately fell in love with the tranquility of Central Portugal and the warm hospitality of the Portuguese people.
