The house looked just as it is in the pictures. It’s easy to find, and I didn’t stay long but Puxico seems like a nice town. It’s also near a wildlife refuge that’s nice to visit. Apart from a few small issues I’ll explain, the house was good for a two night stay. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms. Beds are comfy. The room I was in didn’t have a top sheet above the fitted sheet though, just a microfiber blanket. There was some pet hair left under the bed. There are plenty of outlets for charging stuff. Bedroom closets didn’t have hangers. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, and some metal silverware but forks were missing. A pack of plastic silverware was there which covered the forks. Cooking utensils were just a plastic flipper and ladle. The flipper was falling apart and some plastic got in some food. There weren’t any sharp knives or cutting boards. The bathroom needed a deeper cleaning and the towel rack was still off the wall from the last guest. Overall it was a good stay

Thanks again! Our trip was amazing and it was thanks to this lil spot in puxico. The house was quiet, clean, comfy, and definitely small town feel. Loved it! The next night, we camped at lake wapapello and saw the solar eclipse :)

we enjoyed our stay overall and plan to stay at one of matthews air bnbs again, now there was a few things that wouldn’t bother everyone but my family wasn’t the happiest with. the front and back door have dead bolts but the handles don’t lock, there’s multiple windows without curtains or blinds including the front and back door, there’s no trash can in the bathroom and the bathroom and bedroom doors are difficult to shut. the cleaning fee was the biggest issue. we stayed thursday night-monday morning and it was a $110 cleaning fee. there was dog/cat hair on the couches, floors, rugs and under the beds. we vacuumed twice and there was still plenty of hair on the rug, found a tennis ball under the couch, someone else’s sock under the bed along with crumbs, there was dirt/dust on most the floor, dried coffee that had dripped on the cabinet from someone prier, the towel rack was falling off the wall, and you have to take the trash out before you leave. so what is the cleaning fee for?

I discount for longer stay was good. House is not ready for guests. Water froze twice. Were moved to another home but this was stressful. We were cold. He brought extra heaters. Before renting again, I suggest closing all the air gaps and adding curtains to all windows. Matt was generally responsive but in Airbnb I expect not to need to ask for flatware, towels, and heat.
