In southwest Boone County, Missouri, Wilton is a quaint unincorporated community on the northeast bank of the Missouri River, directly opposite the Marion Bottoms Conservation Area. I retired from teaching in 2017 after a fulfilling career in education. After spending 20 years in North Kansas City, where we raised our two sons, my husband and I moved back to Columbia in 2018. My husband became the Executive Director of a non-profit organization, and we embarked on a new adventure, creating a second home near the water to share our oasis with others.
