Situated on the edge of a volcanic lake, this recently renovated four bedroom home provides spectacular views of Lake Leake and surrounding farmland. Located on an Angus beef cattle farm, the lake house combines an authentic farm stay experience with modern luxuries, allowing you to enjoy the views and pleasures of one of the region’s most stunning fresh water lakes. Welcome to the lake house at Lake Leake. The view is amazing! Grab yourself a drink, fire up the BBQ, and enjoy the view from the outdoor dining area. If it’s chilly outside, no problem, you can also enjoy the view from the lounge, dining table, kitchen or master bedroom. Bring your camera, as the sunsets can be magnificent. The lake itself can be accessed via a short stroll down the hill through the front paddock. Guests have access to our kayak shed, where you will find four kayaks, paddles, seats and life jackets for you to use. At the lake there is a small beach, lawn area, boat ramp, fire pits and a gas bbq available to the public. Back at the house, meander around the grounds and enjoy some fruit from the orchard or vegetables from our garden. Visit our chickens, pat the cats, say hi to the guinea fowl, or just laze away on one of the hammocks with a view. The large shed is a games room with pool table, foosball, TV and bar. There’s also a trampoline for the kids, and some indoor toys and outdoor games are provided. As you enter the house you will be greeted by an open plan living and kitchen area with gorgeous views of the lake. Snuggle up on the couch in front of the wood fire and watch some Netflix on the 75 inch TV. Fast, free Wi-Fi is provided. The house is suitable for two families. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, ensuite and a bay window with lake view. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed with a partial lake view. Bedroom 3 has a bunk bed that is a double bed underneath and a single on top. Bedroom 4 has a bunk bed and a single bed. All bedrooms have built-in robes. The main bathroom includes a large bath tub perfect for soaking in after a long day of sight-seeing. Speaking of sight-seeing, the Lake House is centrally located. Just 30 minutes from the stunning Blue Lake in Mount Gambier, Mayura Station’s award winning Tasting Room near Millicent and the renowned Coonawarra wine region it’s the ideal location for exploring the Limestone Coast by car. A little closer to home, stretch your legs at the Millicent Golf Course, soak in some history at the old Glencoe Woolshed, grab Sunday brunch at the Glencoe Country Post & Bistro or sink a beer with a local at the Kalangadoo Hotel.

10/10 stay, was a beautiful place, both the airbnb and the outstanding view. The host was particular accommodating and was greeted with such welcome. Would most definitely recommend this place!!
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, the views were stunning, the house was beautiful and so was the veggie garden. The beds were comfy, loved the bathrooms and kitchen, especially the fridge with ice making and the large tv. There were lots of activities to do and we loved the friendly cat. The hosts were very responsive and helpful.
Our family enjoyed a truly beautiful time at this property. The views were breathtaking and the photos online don’t do it justice to its real life majesty. The house itself is gorgeous, modern, clean and had all we needed for two families, including infants. Our kids enjoyed the trampoline overlooking the lake everyday and it was a delight to be able to pick fresh vegetables / eggs farm the farm - the tomatoes were the best we’d had! We ventured off to surrounding towns of Penola, Millicent and Mount Gambier & Beachport - only a 30 min drive each direction with lots to explore. We spent a week here and had no complaints. Hosts were lovely and accomodating. Highly recommend the stay, you may just feel like you’re looking out over a lake in Canada! Thanks for our time!
Had a wonderful stay at Damien’s and Claire’s place. The property is so spacious private and beautiful. The sunset from the house with the Lake Leak is just breathtaking. We had a friends getaway with four couples. The sleeping situation wasn’t ideal for four couples but two families or three couples with three kids should fit in nicely. But it didn’t matter to us. We had four days of absolutely bliss with afternoon walks and catching up at Lake Leak, kayaking, bbq, morning strolls, karaoke with the privacy and everything in between. Cannot recommend this place enough. Also Damien and Claire welcomed us graciously. Thank you

A beautiful corner of the world, Lake Leake offers the chance to get close to nature. It is popular for bird watching and has boat launching facilities for jet-skiing, kayaking or sailing. The smaller Lake Edward, located just behind the property, also has a nature trail, a small jetty to launch a kayak and is a good spot for catching redfin perch.
Koorine, is an aboriginal word for daughter. Steeped in history, early pioneers the Leake brothers established the South East of South Australia’s first sheep run here, at Lake Leake in 1844.

Exploring the Limestone Coast is best done by car. Undercover parking is available onsite.

My wife and I have recently moved back to Australia after 12 years overseas and bought a beautiful lakefront property in South-East South Australia. We have two young boys, two cats, two guinea fowl, two chickens and a dog called Rocky. We have travelled to over 50 countries and stayed in over 30 airbnbs. We hope to give back some of the wonderful hospitality we have received and share this amazing little piece of the world that we now call home.
