A great stay with the screen porch right up against the rain forest for full enjoyment of the natural surrounding. Relaxing and welcoming - would definitely stay here again. RDK gave great advice on local sights and was a wonderful host.

Doug was an incredible host who was extremely responsive and very generous. The house even came with a basket of local exotic fruits. The house feels off the grid as it was surrounded by lush plants, but was still close enough to the market and cafes. This was one of my favorite Airbnb’s of all time. I would highly recommend staying here.

Our stay was great! Doug’s place had everything you would need. He had fresh fruits and anthuriums upon arrival which were a nice touch. Overall beautiful environment, would stay again.

Special thanks to RDK for being able to accommodate me at pretty much the last minute. Exactly what I was looking for after returning from a backpack trip at Hawaii Volcanoes. The place is small, bit rustic, but a beautiful lanai and great location between Volcano and Hilo. I would stay here again.

I gave RDK five stars because he is a fabulous host. Very communicative and gracious, he knows a lot about Hawaii and gave us information that made our stay so much better. The space makes you feel like you are living in a tropical forest, so many beautiful flowers. The location is perfecyly situated between Volcano and Hilo. The space is basic but lovely and functional and the lanai is peaceful and relaxing. We'll be back!!
