The seaside resort of Sellin with its popular spa architecture is situated in a particularly scenic location on the east coast of Germany's largest and most beautiful island. Since the turn of the century, Sellin has been one of the most famous seaside resorts. The wide southern beach as well as the cliffs, beech and mixed forests and Lake Sellin border the seaside resort. Sellin, the second largest seaside resort on the island of Rügen, is the gateway to the Mönchgut peninsula and is located in the middle of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve.
