Lillian was the perfect host. She met us when I arrived and she went out of her way to make my family and me feel welcome. The location of the Airbnb was breathtaking, as it adjoined a river outlet that emptied into the sea. The channel was either mostly dry land, or under 8-11 feet of water depending on the tide, which changed four times a day. The house was well furnished with whatever an occupant might need. It was also located conveniently to shopping and restaurants, some of which were within walking distance. I wish I could have stayed there indefinitely.

Lillian’s Rose Cottage was a great place to stay, not only to explore the Belfast area, but it was also a great starting point to do multiple day trips from. Cottage was well equipped with many of the basics that you would need for a 1 day or multiple day stay, both inside the cottage and out (free kayaks!). Can’t say enough about the location on the river, great view of the downtown, harbor and surrounding area. Lillian was very friendly and quick to respond.

The cottage is a great location for exploring the Maine coast. It was wonderful for walking into Belfast, without having to be in the heart of town. Being on the water allowed for great views. Lillian was a great host. She made us feel right at home. We would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family, and certainly hope to visit again ourselves.
