My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. The place was lovely and clean, had great utilities and plenty of space for 6 people. Great location for walks of all difficulties. Gravel track is fairly bumpy but can easily walk into Glenridding if you don’t want to keep driving up and down it. Definitely would stay here again
My friends and I had a very relaxing week at Striding Edge Cottage, despite the weather! The track leading to the house is longer and rougher than we were expecting, but it's accessible in a normal family car. The house is warm and cosy, and the beds are very comfortable. It's in a great location for walks to Helvellyn and the surrounding area, and for access to Ullswater. It takes a while to drive along the track to/from the house though. NB There are no tea towels provided, and no spare bedding, so you might want to bring some of your own items.
We really enjoyed our time in Glenridding and would recommend this as a great apartment and location to stay in. Communication before, during and after our stay was great, with the hosts answering any questions that we had. The accommodation was spotless throughout and was really well furnished. We would highly recommend for anyone looking to visit the area.
Striding Edge cottage was well maintained / recently refurbished. It would benefit from some additional low lighting in the sitting room as the ceiling lights stopped it from feeling as cosy as it could have and made it feel a bit basic. The extra heaters made available helped dry our walking clothes. The location is great for walks right from the front door although the description and ‘pin’ on the map is slightly misleading as it’s over a mile from the village up a very rough track. We were fine as we had vehicles that could cope with it but we had thought we’d be closer to the pub and other amenities. The agent letting the property (cottages,com) helped quickly with a hot water issue and got back to us as they promised.
