The barns and acres of Banceithin were unloved for many years. Out of the mess we've created a home, two environmentally friendly holiday cottages, a wildlife haven and smallholding, all nestled in a secluded valley just a 20 minute drive from the pretty Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron in Ceredigion. Cwt Mochyn cottage is a conversion of an old cow barn and pig sty built in the early 1800's. Sacrificing nothing in terms of style and comfort, this spacious detached six person, three bedroom cottage is also environmentally friendly, the winner of a Green Tourism Gold Award. There is a contemporary galley style fitted kitchen. Reclaimed and hand-made furniture not found in any catalogue or department store give it a character all its own. The bright red family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, and the gold and green en-suite bathroom for one of the double bedrooms has a shower. The cottage has central heating, but there is a wood burning stove to keep you extra toasty on winter evenings. Banceithin is a wildlife haven & in a dark skies area. Perfect for birdwatching & stargazing. Nature guides, binoculars and pond dipping kit are available for wildlife explorers, and star guide for astronomers. There’s a giant outdoor chessboard and shared indoor Games Room equipped with dartboard and table tennis table. For younger children, there’s a Nature Adventure Box with ideas for outdoor fun and a treehouse for den building. All the family can get together in the evening to cook dinner over the fire pit and roast marshmallows.
