Lead the way to adventure on the breadth of the Sussex coast or stay close to home and discover the historic Hastings town centre with plenty of dog-friendly pubs and local shops to peruse. Featuring period features including exposed brickwork throughout, this three-storey townhouse is certain to amaze from the moment you arrive. Let Fido and Rover make themselves at home in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the ground floor. This room features plenty of space for man and dog alike to rest and recharge for adventure-packed days ahead. After a satisfying meal (and a doggy treat or two) sink into cushy sofas and throw a log on the wood burner, settling in for a film on the Smart TV as your pup gets cosy by the hearth. Let sleeping dogs lie as you head on up to bed, discover four cheerful bedrooms on the first and second floors. Although this property doesn’t benefit from outside space, you’ll be pleased to find the beautiful Hastings Beach just 0.5 miles from home. For stunning sea views, you can wander down to the pier (1 mile) or venture into the Hastings Country Park (2.5 miles) to discover the viewpoint at Fairlight Cliffs (3.5 miles) - just be sure to keep your dogs on a tight leash when admiring the view on this dramatic cliff front! Sniff out some adventure inland in the High Weald AONB, spending a gentle afternoon moseying around the historic spot of Battle (7 miles). Great location in the heart of the old town. Four really comfortable bedrooms and a great downstairs space. Would 100% stay again with family or friends.
Overall it was okay, but really needs some TLC and a really good clean (don’t look behind or under sofa). For the price paid you’d expect it to be clean and a little more attention to detail. There’s an odd smell about the place too. Some bedroom windows don’t close properly, which leaves the wind whistling through, not ideal for the coast. Many guests didn’t sleep due to this and unfortunate high winds. No guest info, where to put rubbish, how to control heating (you can’t really), local info etc. TVs in each room is lovely but there’s not an aerial in the whole house so no TV has digital TV. Rooms are well decorated, yet dirty and towels/bed linen are discoloured and stained. Overall, It’s a good space, but needs thinking through again, a bit of looking after, and a clean. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with accessibility needs (our nana did struggle). Quite tight for 6 guests too. Finally, description mentions dogs, but not allowed if booking by AirBnb
We had a good time, the house is nice and quirky but it could benefit from some essentials like hand soap, loo roll and washing up liquid. It’s nicely decorated and comfortable, bedrooms lovely and comfy beds. Two showers both hot and powerful. Compact but useable kitchen area with a good oven. Nice and warm with the option of using the wood burner but it was warm enough without even in December. Could do with a deep clean downstairs and some tlc here and there. An instruction manual would also be nice, like where to leave rubbish sacks and how the TV works, no live tv, apps only. There is also no freezer so be aware if you plan on taking frozen food like we did and then had to throw it away. All in all we had a good stay, it’s in a great location for the old town and the beach
