A romantic hideaway for two, our traditional Shepherd’s Hut is the perfect place to relax and unwind in nature. Tucked into the far end of the garden, it offers all the modern amenities you need in a semi-rural setting. Inside has a cozy double bed with Hypnos mattress, cotton bed linen and blackout blinds. There is a fully equipped kitchenette, dining area and en-suite shower room. The traditional wood burning stove will keep you warm and there is even a TV plus wi-if to keep you connected! Our newly built, luxury Shepherd’s Hut is full of character and charm. Located in the picturesque village of Oakridge Lynch, it is the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds. Sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the garden and grounds around the hut are yours to explore. You have table and chairs just outside for al fresco dining, as well as a fire pit and comfy lounge chairs for enjoying the summer evenings, all with wonderful views across the Golden Valley! We also provide a complimentary welcome pack which includes a selection of teas, freshly ground coffee, milk and biscuits.

My partner and I had a fantastic stay here. The shepherd's hut is even more impressive in person - we were immediately struck by the level of quality and attention to detail, marks of Vida's clear passion and talent for hosting. The hut was very well-equipped with everything you could think to need. Vida was friendly, easy to communicate with and a great host all round. Thanks for having us - we'll definitely be back again in the future!
Perfect little getaway! We had such a lovely time staying here on our first trip down to the Cotswolds. The Shepherds Hut had everything and more that you could possibly need, including a full oven which we were we’re finding difficult to find in other spots. The hut is perfectly located, with all major hotspots within an hour’s drive (Diddly Squat Farm, Banbury, Bourton on the water, Bath, Castle Combe etc). We’d definitely visit again! Thank you for such a great stay.
Beautiful and cosy Shepherd’s hut surrounded by truly stunning countryside. Really easy check in and the Shepherd’s hut was fully equipped with everything we needed for our weekend stay. Cant recommend Vida’s place enough! We’ll be back!
Easy simple booking, The setting was beautiful and we loved the welcome from the dogs. Shepard's Hut was amazing. Immaculate throughout. Well worth the price and visit.
Amazing food and drinks at the local pub, amazing view from the location of the hut, and it felt wonderful to relax and enjoy the wood fire at night

Oakridge Lynch is a quiet, rural village with a thriving community. There is a popular local pub as well as a shop and post office.
Flora and fauna abound and it is not unusual to see deer, pheasants, foxes and rabbits in the gardens of The Old Vicarage! We have several sites of special scientific interest within walking distance, where rare orchids and butterflies can be spotted.
At the bottom of the valley runs the old Thames and Severn canal, which provides lovely walks, as does the Wysis Way which runs through the village.
The area is also popular with cyclists with a variety of trails ranging in difficulty.
There are many leisure activities on offer locally, including gliding from nearby Aston Down, Cotswold Waterpark offering all water-based activities from fishing to jet-skiing, the multi award-winning Stroud Farmers’ Market every Saturday morning and plenty of real country pubs serving excellent food and local ales, wines and ciders in neighbouring villages. Within easy reach are many historic villages and towns including Cirencester, a pretty market town dating back to Roman times. Cheltenham is 30 minutes by car, perfect for a day at the races or a spot of retail therapy!
A car is preferable as we are a little off the beaten track, although Stroud station is only 15 minutes away by taxi. Trains run regularly from London Paddington with a journey time of around 1 hour 20 minutes.
We have plenty of off-street parking a short walk from the Shepherds Hut (100 metres).
The pretty villages of Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are less than 45 minutes away. Bath, Bristol and Bristol International Airport are within an hour.

I moved to the Cotswolds almost 8 years ago after deciding on a change from the world of Corporate Business. I live with my Mum, Alison and the B&B/cottage is family run. I love living in the Countryside and spending time with our dogs, walking and exploring the local areas. I am a keen cook, especially baking and making preserves with the fruit and vegetables we grow in the garden. Our style of hosting is fairly relaxed. We both enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and welcoming you into our home.
