This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. Walking distance to all shops, pubs and restaurants, of which there are plenty. Five minutes walk to the bus station which allows you to travel anywhere on this amazing island. The room itself is cosy and peaceful, with a smart TV, tea and coffee making facilities (includes biscuits). Complimentary wine on arrival. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Full use of facilities and lovely garden to sit in if it's sunny. Beautiful, well appointed double room with views overlooking the garden. Guests have use of all communal rooms in this much loved house. Being an old cottage, it does have low ceilings and doorways in places so guests really must mind their heads. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for children or anyone with mobility problems as there is quite a steep spiral staircase that guests will have to brave to get to the bedroom and bathroom. There will be a warm welcome on your arrival to show you where you are staying and answer any questions you may have. Parking is available in a car park about 100 metres away, it is pay and display or a visitor permit is available at a small cost, this will allow you to park in nearly all Council car parks across the island. If bringing a car, please enquire about parking before booking this property.

Spent 2 lovely days at IOW. Julie is a fantastic host, has thought about everything. Her place is neat and extremely well maintained, and as described, with the stairs adding a bit of adventure(she mentions it upfront)and close to the buses. We’re glad we didn’t use the car and extended our stay by a day based on Julie’s suggestions. Highly recommend.
Julie was an amazing host. She had a lovely home which is near to the city center. The place was great and she had lovely amenities for us. I would recommend the place to travellers visiting Newport.
Amazing place and super nice host! The location is convenient if you are travelling by bus. It's just 5 mins walk away from the Newport bus station. But, surprisingly, it's in a quite area and there is no noise during the night! The house is adorable and clean. Julie is very friendly, always replied the messages quickly and gave us a warm introduction of everything. I will definitely book it again when I plan to travel next time :)
Julie was a very friendly and attentive host. She was there to greet me and show me how everything worked and helped with my suitcase. The room was spotless, and beautifully decorated; it faces a quiet, pretty garden and is very tranquil with a good size bed. The bathroom has a lovely hot shower and there are lovely big towels. Julie was very thoughtful about sharing her space and was very mindful of her guest’s needs. Her house is so close to town; it is a jewel of a place to stay in, and Julie really was a terrific host!

Metered on street parking directly outside house, though this can get busy. Metered car park within about 100metres. Visitor permits available for this car park at an extra cost, this allows you to park in nearly all council car parks across the island. Central bus station to all island destinations, five minute walk. Taxi rank, five minute walk.

I used to be a publican in a quaint village pub on the Grand Union Canal in Buckinghamshire. But, searching for a quieter life, I moved to the Isle of Wight. I am now a Community Carer, a job which is very satisfying and I love doing. I feel very lucky to be living on such a beautiful island. It still amazes me that I can go to the beach anytime I like, whereas previously, I couldn't have been further away from it! Loving life right now.
