CASA CARAPACE is a custom-built beach house with high-end finishes newly constructed in 2023 at The Preserve at Grand Beach, a secure gated beachfront community on the east end of Galveston Island. Located on Galveston Island's Grand Beach, between Stewart Beach and East Beach Park. This community has the best of both worlds as it offers a tranquil, relaxed beach lifestyle within 10 minutes of historical downtown Galveston, with its dining, shopping, and entertainment. The spacious 2-story house has ~2,481 SQFT of living space plus over ~650 SQFT of Gulf view covered deck area exquisitely furnished with products from Restoration Hardware. This property has 4 King-size bed ensuites, 1 ensuite bunk bedroom with 4 custom-built bunk beds, and a half bath on the first floor convenient to the open-concept living. This beach house can accommodate groups of up to 12 people. All guests must be disclosed. There is designated overflow parking a few feet across from the property. *** FIRST FLOOR *** • Open plan concept: Living room, kitchen, and dining with a beautiful view of the Gulf. • LIVING ROOM: 65" Samsung 4K UHD LED LCD TV above an electric fireplace in front of a 35”x54” RH coffee table surrounded by 2 couches from High Fashion Home, 2 accent chairs, and 2 poufs for extra seating. • KITCHEN: Fully Equipped Kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Spacious quartz island with 4 counter stools. Custom shaker-style cabinets and drawers with soft close. Electric range with a single oven. • DINING: RH table set seats 10 • BALCONY: ~325 SF covered Trex deck balcony with a view of the Gulf. Furnished with an RH outdoor dining table that seats 8 and an RH sofa set. • GAMES/TOYS CLOSET: Board games and card games such as Pictionary, Taboo, Uno, Battleship, Monopoly, Gravity Maze, Boggle, Playstix, Chess, Checkers, tabletop Foosball, Cards Against Humanity and more. Toys that can be taken to the beach (including but not limited to a basket of goggles, buckets with shovels to build sand castles, water launchers, boogie boards, swimming flippers, inflatables, etc.), and beach towels. • HALF BATH • LAUNDRY ROOM: Equipped with full-size Washer/Dryer, Iron & Ironing Board. • BEDROOM #1: Approximately 16'x12', King bed, room darkening curtains, ensuite bathroom with single-vanity and frameless-glass door walk-in tile shower, 65" Samsung TV, entrance to ~216 SF covered Trex deck balcony facing the city furnished with outdoor sofa. *** SECOND FLOOR *** • BEDROOM #2: Approximately 12'x12', King bed, room darkening curtains, ensuite bathroom with single-vanity and frameless-glass door walk-in tile shower, 65" Samsung TV • BEDROOM #3: “Bunk Room” has 2 custom bunk beds with x-long twin mattresses, room darkening curtains, ensuite bathroom with double vanity, and shower/tub combination. This is the only bedroom without a TV. NOTE: The bunk beds were designed for kids under 110 lbs. Anyone above 110 lbs should not be on the top bunk beds due to safety. • BEDROOM #4: Approximately 13'x12' room next to the balcony with beach view, King bed with room darkening curtains, ensuite bathroom with double vanity and frameless-glass door walk-in tile shower, 43" Samsung TV • BEDROOM #5: Approximately 13'x12' room next to the balcony with beach view, King bed with room darkening curtains, ensuite bathroom with double vanity and frameless-glass door walk-in tile shower, 43" Samsung TV • BALCONY: ~325 SF covered Trex deck balcony with outdoor furniture and view of the Gulf. THIS HOUSE IS SELF-CATERING. Please stop by your nearest supermarket to purchase personal toiletries and desired meals. STARTER SUPPLIES: •We do provide a small welcome kit to get you started. • Please stop by the nearest Supermarket to gather any additional items you may need for the duration of your stay. HOUSEKEEPING: There is no daily housekeeping service provided in the rental rate. Before check-in, the unit will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected by a professional cleaning company. Clean sheets and towels will be available in the unit. Mid-stay cleaning services during your stay can be requested for an additional fee. TRASH DISPOSAL: Please observe trash collection days and place trash in the resort dumpster daily to keep a clean home. ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY IF NOT COMPLIED when the owner has to fix something or pay for an extra cleaning. If you would like to request roller beds during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible. There is an additional bed fee of $20/roller bed when requested. We have a total of 4 beds available which will bring max occupancy to 16.
Beautiful beach house with a well stocked kitchen. The floor plan is very comfortable for families to gather. The kitchen, dining, living and attached deck give you ample room without feeling on top of each other. We had 2 babies, 2 toddlers and a 7 year old and had plenty of play room. The house comes with puzzles, books, games, 2 wagons and beach toys! We used them all! We had a very windy weekend but underneath the house has a huge area which blocked the wind. The kids had so much fun with chalk and bubbles and eating outside at the large dining table. I highly recommend this beautiful house if you need a place to gather and enjoy family time. It’s a short walk to the beach!!
Well decorated and a great location. Everything you need. We did not get to enjoy all aspects as the wind was constant at 22 to 26 mph the entire stay so you could not stay on the porches but other times would be great.
This home offered a great family atmosphere for us to host family dinners yet provided enough space for us to spread out! Signage made it easy to follow instructions and helped us to feel right at home! The gated community helped us to feel safe and relaxed! Everything worked perfectly! No quirky household stressors!
One of the best Airbnb we have stayed at. Beautifully decorated with high end furnishings. Pictures are exactly what you get. Extremely comfortable and welcoming. Host is very proactive and accommodating. Beach was close enough that the kids could walk to and not complain! Definitely would come back.

Traveling around Galveston Island is almost always done via car. The island has taxi services as well as Uber/Lyft. There are also bicycles available for rental to ride on the Seawall or beach. Pedego is the closest electric bike rental shop located nearby about 0.7 miles (15-minute walk) from our home.
