Experience the beautiful nature of Telemark and the rich and dramatic history of Rjukan with a stay at the old brewer's log house. Stay in the midst of high mountains, the Hardangervidda National Park, the steep pastures and lush forests, as well as the Rjukan-Notodden UNESCO World Heritage area, representing crucial sites in Norwegian industrial history and key events from WW II. The Berghei family farm at Veset is recently established, but people have lived at the site since the Vikings. In this old log cabin you'll have access to one bedroom, a bathroom and a combined living room and kitchen area. The bathroom is modern, and the kitchen has all facilities (stove, fridge/freezer, dishwasher). In the bedroom you'll find a double bed that can be split in two singles, so the space will suit both couples or two friends. You'll have access to free high-speed wifi on the premises, and if you want to charge your EV this can be arranged with the hosts for a small fee. Interior photos will be added soon.

This is a great hut at a little farm outside of Rjukan. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make our selfs feel at home. Monica was friendly and responded really well to our questions and feedback. Next time we come to climb the Gaustatoppen we will definitely stay here.
Erg fijn verblijf gehad in dit huisje. het huisje voelde groter aan dan de foto's op Airbnb. Verder vriendelijke mensen en een fijn welkom. Het huisje ligt dicht bij het Vermork museum en de Gaustatoppen. Vanaf het huisje kun je via een privépad zelfs tot aan de krossobanen lopen (tip!).
Veldig koselig hytte i fredelige omgivelser ☺️ kort vei til Gaustatoppen. Anbefaler!

At Berghei gård, the Berghei family farm, you will probably notice more animals than neighbours. As we have recently moved in, the local wildlife has taken hold of our surroundings; does, squirrels, owls, foxes, hares, lynx, rodents, etc.
As time passes, you'll get to know the farm animals we intend to raise at the farm.
The farm is conveniently located between Rjukan town center and the Vemork Power Station, with forest paths and hiking trails linking us with the town center (via the Krossobanen Cable Car landing) and the nearby Hardangervidda National Park.
Up the valley you will also find Krokan, the Norwegian Trekking Association's first cabin. It recently celebrated 150 years. Further up you will also find Skinnarbu, the Hardangervidda National Park Center.
Feel free to explore our scenic surroundings by foot, skis or bikes, thanks to the Norwegian right of public access ("Allemannsretten").
The farm offers free parking for multiple cars, big cars or camper vans. The local buses can be hailed from the main road. (Ask the bus driver for local stop: Veset).
Available also by biking or walking (4 km) from Rjukan City Center. From april to october, the farm is also accessible via a quiet forest road from the Krosso Cable Car parking. We recommend a hike along the forest road to all our guests.
