Quiet family neighbourhood that is a 1 minute drive to the main highway. I grew up in this neighborhood and it is one of the best locations in the city for accessibility. The bus stop is less than a 1 minute walk away which can take you straight downtown Calgary. There is a really nice park nearby called Laycock park, which is a great place for walking your pets and there is a walking/biking path that runs through it and connects to various locations throughout the city - including the zoo. Behind the backyard is an open field, another great place for walking pets. There is a plaza for grocery shopping, haircuts, food, and more just one minute down the road. Deerfoot city is great shopping center and is a 4 minute drive from the house. Nose Hill is a beautiful park to walk or bike through and it is only a 6 min drive away. There are a couple of recreation centers nearby. Thornhill Aquatic center has a pool, hockey rink, gym, and more. Thorncliff Greenview Community Association has squash and racquet ball courts, hockey rink, a large gymnasium, and a park outside with a disc golf course. Banff is only a 1.5 hr drive away and it's beautiful there any time of year. The Calgary Stampede is a major attraction that comes 1x a year and it's, again, so easy to get to from here.

Car, Bike, Bus, and Ride Share are all great options for getting around. It depends on the experience you want.
I'd recommend biking because of the nice parks nearby and how close everything is.
I'd also recommend city transit because of how easy it is to get around by bus from here.
