肯特(Kent) · 整套小木屋 · 1室0床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Woodland lodge with heated pool
Relax in our peaceful, family-friendly, off-grid lodge, sited on the edge of ancient woodland and surrounded by a wildflower meadow. This is a beautiful, quiet place to reconnect and make lovely memories for all the family. Footpaths lead in all directions, with access to open fields with views to the north downs. Near many beautiful National Trust properties and other special historic sites. The heated pool is open from April to October. Trampoline, climbing frame and games available. The property is a new build 'cabin' style lodge. The rooms are very clean and uncluttered. The shower is fantastic. The futon in the sitting room opens into a comfortable bed for two children or one adult. The views are of the woodland. It is very well insulated, cool in summer, warm in winter. The lodge is powered by solar panels and heated by air-source heat pumps. There is underfloor heating, making it snug in the colder months. It is set next to our ancient woodland (private property) from where you can walk into the neighbouring fields to join footpaths leading in different directions. In May you have a splendour of bluebells in the woods, in June the elders are in flower (which make delicious cordials), in July-August a bounty of blackberries are ripe for picking (jam and sorbet season), and in September-October the apple harvest in the next field are ready to harvest. There is lots of birdlife in the area. You are welcome to use our bbq or firepit. The idea is simply to slow down, enjoy the space and natural environment, reconnect with nature and enjoy life off-grid. This lodge is perfect for all ages, and families especially enjoy bringing their children to enjoy the space and activities on offer.
Larissa's place was absolutely delightful, one of our best Airbnb experiences to date. The location, the surroundings, the accommodation and the pool were thoroughly enjoyable and exactly as we hoped they would be. We had a great time and Larissa and her family were such gracious and welcoming hosts. As we were driving home we wished we could have stayed longer and were already discussing when we might be able to return, which says it all really.
We had a wonderful stay at Larissa’s cabin. So much fun for children as they just loved the space to explore. Cosy and clean, a perfect getaway. We will definitely be returning xx
Fabulous spot away from the city. Really enjoyed the fresh air, easy access to beautiful walks, national trust sites, and great pubs. Larissa was a fantastic host who was really responsive and gave loads of great recommendations.
Our stay at Larissa's cabin was wonderful and memorable for various reasons: the cabin is extremely well designed and good quality material is combined with excellent workmanship. It made our stay very comfortable. The pool is fantastic and right next to it is beautiful woodland where we could walk and explore. We spent most of our weekend either inside the pool or on the large terrace with nothing but birdsong and perhaps far-off neighbourhood sounds. Larissa told us about paths we could go for runs on. We drove a short distance to enjoy a good pub lunch. The cabin has a beautiful and tastefully-decorated interior. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the bbq outside. Both the mattress and the futon were very comfortable and the shower is strong and pleasant. Larissa and the few family members we met are really lovely people who were helpful but also careful to remain unobtrusive.
A perfect break. We all slept well (two adults can fit on the futon, quite comfortably!), the girls loved the pool (as did we) and were extremely comfortable. Larissa recommended Halfway House, and it was so good we went twice in three days!! Owls hooting at night, birds singing in the morning, sun slicing through the trees. The pool is a sunspot and the outdoor dining area is wonderful, rain or shine. I cannot recommend highly enough the massage therapy Larissa offers either. Thank you all for hosting us and sharing your lovely woodland lodge with us xx
Our home is located on the edge of the pretty village of Brenchley, 15 minutes from Tunbridge Wells (shops and restaurants), 15 minutes from the immense Bewl Water (wonderful walks and bike rides all year round), 20 minutes from Bedgebury Pinetum (more fabulous walking and cycling among the trees), near to various gardens and National Trust properties and 50 minutes from the beaches near Rye and Hastings on the south coast. We are surrounded by orchards and fields with wonderful views. There are typical Kent oast houses in the area and plenty of great local family-friendly pubs close by. Resident owls can be heard at night, and the evening birdsong is magical. We have a large pond, with wild ducks who have made it their home. We ocasionally see herons and kingfishers too. All in all, a wonderful place to unwind, connect with nature, and relax. After a day out, there's always a an outdoor firepit to come back to, or simply a warm lodge to relax in.
Please note: we have a (sweet) dog, 3 cats and a few chickens, so if you are planning to bring a pet, do bear this in mind :-)
Parking is on site by our house. There is a small path that winds its way through the long grass to the lodge. There is no public transport. Cycling is popular in the area, both on the roads and at Bedgebury Pinetum (mountain biking) which is a 20 minute drive from here.
