Grindleford · 整套民居 · 2室6床2.0卫 · 可住8人 · Cosy hideaway in stunning Peak District location
The Hope Valley Hideaway is a beautiful stone barn next to my home in the hillside Peak District village of Grindleford, an outdoors hub with a friendly vibe. It's the perfect place to cosy up after a day walking, running, cycling, climbing, foraging or swimming and surrounds you with an exceptional level of comfort and beauty, lovingly curated with regenerative and sustainable living in mind. Walk 5 mins to National Trust woods and swim spot, 20 mins to breathtaking views or the train station. The Hope Valley Hideaway is a cosy, comfortable retreat with light, airy rooms and plenty of homely touches. Downstairs, you enter wide glass doors where the light pours in on a sunny day into the well-equipped kitchen space, with all you need to cook for your friends and family. Next to the kitchen is the dining space which seats 6 and an additional breakfast bar which seats 3. From the photos you can see that you can dress this for a formal meal just as easily as you can grab a quick family breakfast. Both spaces also make great work areas and have sockets nearby. The lounge area is snug and well stocked with extra blankets - although the whole property is so well insulated and heated tile floor that you're unlikely to need these. There's a sofa to sit 3-4, an armchair and two comfy footstools. You can turn the bar stools around for extra seating too, or there are spare chairs upstairs. We've provided writing material, games and guidebooks for evenings. On the first floor there is a luxurious master bedroom with full ensuite bathroom, a well-equipped family bedroom with two full bunks and a comfy double sofa bed. The family room is well-stocked with lego, kapla and Knex for down time and rainy days as well as a changing table. There's lots of storage space, mirrors and lighting around the place too. Throughout the Hideaway, you’ll find yourself using an array of beautiful upcycled and reclaimed objects; there is intentionally very little plastic. The carpets are sourced from British sheep farms, the bathroom floors made from sustainable cork. It's all powered by air source heating and solar energy.
Wow, what can I say.. myself and 4 friends booked to stay at Jane’s hideaway as we was climbing the Edale skyline in the Peak District , fundraising for a dear friend of ours medical treatment. Jane’s hideaway is an absolute Gem of a property. Cosy, Quaint with lots of beautiful little touches that made it feel such a special place to stay. Jane was so lovely from the start, always responded promptly, gave great information and had made us a lovely cake when we returned from our hike( which went down a treat ❤️) you have something really special with the hideaway Jane and the most amazing memories were made whilst staying at your place. If you want a quiet getaway or your climbing the Edale skyline and need somewhere to stay set in beautiful surroundings this is the place to book, you won’t be disappointed. Love The mountain Mama’s xx
Very friendly host. Great location in the Peak District with lots of walking options. Kitchen is fully kitted out for cooking and there are plenty of options for eating out. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway, we were greeted by Jane and her family shortly after we arrived. She had kindly left us some farm fresh eggs and locally sourced milk in the kitchen. The accommodation was lovely, nicely decorated throughout with little quirks and a great bookshelf with some brilliant books on. Although we had a great time, we feel this accommodation would be more appropriate for families and those that are likely to be going to bed at 9pm. The house rules do state quiet time between 9pm and 7am, but we weren’t aware of just how quiet we had to be. Would definitely recommend, but more for families and older guests who may go to bed a little earlier.
We really enjoyed our stay at Cosy Hideaway. It was comfy, spotless and perfect for our needs. Jane was great and very helpful.
The Hope Valley Hideaway is a beautiful stone barn that adjoins my home, tucked into a quiet old farmyard close to the centre of the small hillside village of Grindleford, in the Peak District’s Hope Valley. The village is known as an outdoors hub, as well as for its welcoming, active community and exceptionally friendly vibe. You will find a warm welcome in the well-stocked community-owned shop that sells the best home-made cake in the valley. The well-equipped playground is the heart of the village, and there are three pubs - from a short stumble away to a lovely 30 min hike through beech woodland towards Jubilee Rock.
Surrounded by stunning gritstone edges, the Hideaway has limitless opportunities for walking, running, cycling, climbing, scrambling and swimming right from the door. Within 5 minutes you can be in National Trust-managed ancient woodland or strolling along the stunning Derwent River. 15 minutes after that you can be on a sandy moorland path surrounded by breath-taking views and the area’s finest gritstone bouldering. A 20-minute walk gets you to the train station with direct links to Sheffield in 15 minutes and Manchester in an hour. For cyclists, there’s a cracking sportive route that takes you round some of the best-known hill climbs of the Peak District in less than two hours. I’m a keen bikepacker, former climber and fair weather runner, and can help with recommendations for routes, provide guidebooks and lend repair kits and, on occasion, equipment. Taxis and buses are harder to come by - there's more information in the Hideaway's welcome guide.
