Why not experience a bit of British boating history whilst enjoying London’s historical landmarks? Ideal for 4 guests, our London canal boat has a super-king bedroom, double-bed sofa, fold out single & cot. The kitchen & bathroom were recently renovated to retain period features of the unique vessel. On the Grand Union canal near Little Venice, it's 20 mins to many famous sites (eg Big Ben). Experience canal boat culture in London - and welcome aboard! Our canal boat is ideal for a couple, family or group of friends visiting London to see the city's most famous landmarks. The canal boat offers a bright open-plan kitchen and lounge, full bathroom, spacious bedroom, double bed sofa and cot to sleep up to 4 adults and small child. The boat's stern has a comfortable deck allowing for early sunrise breakfasts or relaxing dinners under the stars - or lets guests have a relaxing cup of tea whilst watching towpath pedestrians or ducks feeding in the canal. Full of historical character, the boat was recently carefully renovated to retain original period features including the oak wood, brass fixtures and ceramic tiling - notably in the kitchen and bathroom. This canal boat was originally built in Sheffield but spent many of years of service in the branches of the Oxford canal before making its way down to central London. A few considerations for your (more eco-conscious) stay on a canal boat: 1. Constant cruising - The canal boat moors on Grand Union canal near Little Venice and the route to her exact location along the easy-to-access towpath will be provided after booking 2. Traditional burning stove - for cool London evenings we offer wood or coal to keep you cosy in the boat or you can use our energy-efficient heater 3. Power Bank accelerator - the canal boat runs on solar power so excellent power banks are on standby to help charge phones, laptops and an energy-efficient refrigerator. Note like most canal boats ours was not originally designed to run hair dryers, irons and other electricity-hungry appliances and devices. 4. Recycling - a standard easy-to-use waste unit found in most moving recreational vehicles won’t compromise your comfort during your stay You may find staying on our canal boat a more interesting and unusual experience than your standard hotel or apartment - and our boat has what you need for a memorable break in central London.
We loved staying here! Such a treat to stay on the canal in central London! A little oasis - very relaxing. Thomas was very easy to communicate with and the quirks of being off grid were well explained - these add to the charm in our view!
