Off the main roads in a peaceful country setting, Cedarhaven is a place of repose. You’ll find a queen-size bed, cozy sitting area with desk, and coffee and tea fixings. Joe’s Pond is 10 minutes away with swimming, boat and kayak rentals and a seasonal food truck. The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail walking and bike path is one mile down a quiet road. Multiple micro-breweries and distilleries are nearby. Hiking trails, music events, craft and antique shops are all part of the region’s offerings. The entry has a key box if I’m not here when you arrive. Code will be sent after you book. Please let me know about when you expect to get here. The bedroom and sitting area are up a somewhat steeper than usual set of stairs with two handrails. The bathroom is at the bottom of the stairs. You will share that with me, but I suspect our schedules will be different so there won’t be any traffic jams. When you arrive, walk straight through to the stairs. Turn right at the top. There’s a gate to keep my four-footed friends away from your space. A fan and portable heater are in the bedroom so you can create your own comfort level. At 1400 feet, it almost always cools off in the evening. Tea and coffee are available in the sitting area. Comfy chairs are set up for you outside under the apple tree to enjoy the sounds of country life.

Totally under rated, this is a gem. Caro is very friendly, knowledgeable and a local guide to the beautiful vermont state, highly proficient in historical and geographical perspectives. She is also very involved in the presentation of the state, with several documentaries she shot, edited and produced, including a great one on Champlain. The location is a typical, yet ususally barely reachable, pond facing house, nested in a romantical scenery with bunnies. Dark night with spectacular star trail skies. Too cold outside? fine, enter the cosy warm place and pat Amber, the nicest dog on earth. You are home, and you know that you are welcome. Caro loves to discuss in depth about this beautiful state. I spent several years in New england before, but i can tell that she was above and beyond to prepare for your tour in VT state. Vous parlez français? There are several neighboring houses nearby, but none of them are visible. Cedarhaven is a mile or two on well-maintained country roads from state highways. There are times when it’s possible to savor the experience of hearing no human sounds. Loons calling, coyotes singing (from afar), and horses neighing are all here.
Although it may seem as if the land is “empty,” it is all privately owned so please do not walk on any trails you might see. Thank you for being respectful.
There is a dedicated parking spot. A vehicle or bike is needed to get around.
