100% recommend to anyone who wants a perfect break in a perfect location with a perfect host! We had 2 nights here and from the start Diana was extremely accommodating, on arrival check in was simple and everything was fully explained with very clear instructions. The cottage itself was amazing, it was fully equipped with everything you could need. It was extremely comfortable and cosy, and the views from both the bedroom and patio room were incredible. There’s a reason this place is always booked up. Thank you so much! P.s fully recommend the eggs, they’re amazing!
Diana was an accommodating host who made this idyllic location in the lakes that bit more special. The cottage had a warm cosy feeling to it that was perfect for relaxing with board games, fire and an interesting selection of books. The sunset from the hot tub was incredible and was a well needed soak after a day of hiking. The kitchen was fully accessible with everything I needed to cook a full breakfast each morning and dinner. I would recommend this cottage and will hopefully return in the future.
Remote and peaceful accommodation with loads to do in the surrounding area. Diana had some brilliant recommendations for local walks and was very accommodating throughout. We shall be back!
Beautiful location, the views were unbelievable! The cottage was cute and in the perfect location for what we needed. Diana was responsive, welcoming and suggested some amazing walks. I was really sad to leave!

I've built wardrobes, run walking holidays, milked goats, made cheese - but always my heart has been in the Lake District, and now I have the good fortune to live in one of its most tranquil valleys. The Vale of Lorton is truly a Lakeland hidden gem! You'll find I live just across from the cottages with my hens - in case you need any help, advice, or free range eggs! (Some of the reviews below are from when I ran an airbnb cottage at my former organic smallholding in Shropshire).
