Ix-Xewkija · 整套乡村小屋 · 1室0床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Beautiful Garden Cottage in Restored Country Home
Enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay in this lovely first-floor cottage in one of Gozo’s oldest villages. Eden 2 is part of a lovingly restored 300-year-old house of character and features the stone walls and attractive archways characteristic of Gozitan architecture. Close to the vibrant village square and on a main bus route, this is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful island of Gozo.
Loved our stay at Eden. Querky and full of character. Enjoyed having breakfast out on the terrace in the morning sunshine. Lovely little bakery and a small supermarket only a short walk away. Beautiful church on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to our return visit. Mary Lou
Eden is located in the village of Xewkija (pronounced show-key-ya). The vibrant village square, with a great collection of bars and restaurants, is just a few minutes’ walk away, and the bus route into Victoria, from where you can connect to other attractions on the island, is easily accessible.
Amenities and attractions nearby:
Several corner-shops and groceries
Ta'Saminu Bakery (famous on the island and just 5 minutes' walk away)
Xewkija Square
Xewkija Windmill
Gnien Blankas (Olive Groves)
Magro Food Village
Gozitano Agricultural Village
Top five suggested activities:
1. Enjoy an early morning walk around the narrow streets of Xewkija, followed by the famous Breakfast Ftira at 1939 Xewkija Bistro;
2. Explore the Rotunda of Xewkija in the village square. As the largest church in Gozo, it is visible from most parts of the island, and boasts the third largest unsupported dome in the world!
3. Wander down to the Xewkija Windmill, first built in 1710, to learn about the history of the village and the island at large, and then visit the Magro food village to browse their selection of Gozitan delicacies.
4. Take a stroll through the olive groves of Gnien Blankas… with some friendly alpacas! Book your alpaca experience through Gozo Alpaca Walks.
5. Take a guided tour of Gozo’s first craft brewery, Lord Chambray, which includes a tasting of four beers chosen from a selection of 12 beers on tap.
There are many attractions you can reach on foot from Eden Cottage. To explore further, hop on the nearby bus route, which takes you to the central bus terminus in Victoria. From there, you can connect easily to all other towns on the island.
