We were looking for a little more space than that offered by hotel rooms and Mengli‘s place offered just that. Hoboken was wonderful and I can only recommend it. Easy to reach from Newark, easy to get into Manhattan but also enough restaurants, bars and grocery stores to not have to go into the city. A complete surprise to me as a London girl, was the efficiency, punctuality and cleanliness of the 126 bus service, which even at peak rush hour ran to time and was a quick 20 minutes into the Port Authority Station on Manhattan. The ferry to Wall Street was also perfect. A wonderful, but exhausting few days, and coming back to Mengli‘s place was the perfect antidote to the fabulous craziness of Manhattan. It’s an old building, there is some noise from the apartment upstairs, and as we arrived on a Saturday night, noise from revellers out and about, but not late and not a patch on the sirens and crowds we would have had in the city itself. A strong recommendation from us! Family of 5.
Mengli’s home was perfect for our stay. It was spotless, well equipped and perfectly described in her listing. We stayed for three nights to visit NYC. We walked to the PATH station every morning with ease and made it into the city very quickly. Getting home was just as easy. Mengli was very responsive when we needed her help turning the heat down and checked in with us several times. We will definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay in Hoboken at the little red house. It was very clean, cozy and comfortable and we had quick responses to all our questions, even when they were technically sent out of the normal window. It was a little confusing to understand the full setup from the photos but basically there's the bed downstairs in the living room/kitchen area, then when you go upstairs there are the two bedrooms with like a little, closet/nursery area in between, and the bathroom is on one side. It was great for us with three people because everyone had their own space and a sense of privacy (but all the spaces open into each other so it's not totally private). Be aware that they also rent the space upstairs --we had one night where the people arrived and were up very late moving around. Mengli was very responsive and contacted the family, and the following night was much better but that night of rest was pretty shot for all of us. Bring earplugs! Overall an awesome stay and good value.
Great place to stay, easy trip to NYC--10 minute walk to Path station. Traveled with our 3 boys (ages 7, 9, 12) and this was a clean, comfortable place to stay. Apartment is more spacious than the pictures suggested, bedding comfortable, bathrooms updated. This is a garden apartment, but there was minimal noise and it still felt cozy and private and no musty odor that some lower apts have (in fact it smelled amazing!), close to restaurants and shops in Hoboken as well as the convenience to NYC. We would definitely stay again. The only issue we had was the temperature wasn't within our control. We had an uncomfortably warm sleep the first night (the heat was great when returning from a too chilly rainy April day outside, but less amazing after bedtime), but I messaged the host in the am and they were immediately responsive and able to adjust from an app. I'm sure this has to do with age of the building, and we appreciated the immediate fix. Would have loved a fan or two for bedrooms.

自我介绍
I am a mom to a two-and-a-half-year-old boy and a ten-year-old Goldendoodle. I love traveling and antiquing. I love "culture shocks" and the different senses that traveling brings. I value craftsmanship and unique designs, which explains my obsession with antiquing. You will find many small items I picked up during trips abroad and my antique findings. I hope our place can bring comfort and a homey feeling to my guests who travel to see NYC.
