Navigating your way around the historic and vibrant neighborhood of Salem is a breeze from The Boardman Residence, which benefits from a prime location that places the best of the city right at your fingertips.
Walking: One of the greatest perks of our location is the ability to reach many of Salem’s notable landmarks and attractions on foot. Stroll through the historic streets and enjoy the city’s rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking architecture.
Public Transportation: Salem is well-serviced by public transport, including buses and the commuter rail, providing easy access to nearby areas and a straightforward route to downtown Boston. Salem Station is just a short drive or a comfortable walk away from the residency, offering convenience for those looking to explore wider.
Parking: Guests should be aware that parking in Salem, especially during the peak Halloween season, can be particularly challenging. We provide one off-street parking space in the driveway on the back of the house, but do not recommend driving around Salem while staying. The streets often close to accommodate the festivities, making driving impossible. On-street parking is not available in October. We recommend utilizing nearby public parking facilities to secure a spot, and encourage guests to plan ahead, as the garages often fill up before midday. Detailed information about parking is provided in the community information card in the unit.
Bicycling: For those who prefer a more active mode of transport, biking is a great option, with Salem offering Blue Bikes available for rent at several locations throughout the city, and bike-friendly streets and picturesque routes for you to explore the city at your pace.
Ride-sharing and Taxis: Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft operate in the area, along with traditional taxi services, offering a convenient option for door-to-door transportation. During Halloween, please be advised that streets close, so ride sharing options will be very limited.
