The Main House at The Garden Estate Welcome to central Vermont’s perfect four-season vacation rental, set on 60+ acres of pastures and forest - ideal for family reunions, holiday celebrations, small weddings, corporate retreats, or just a great weekend getaway. The home is perfectly situated on the hillside with a commanding four-season view of the entire valley. The front door opens to a spacious entryway and continues up a short flight of stairs to an open concept living area, complete with a 75” TV and dining room with a cathedral ceiling. The chef’s kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining with a breakfast bar and additional table seating. A second large living area with spectacular views of the valley (and another TV) is accessed from the entryway. The main level is completed by a spacious suite with en suite bathroom with a shower. On the second level are three additional bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The primary bedroom is expansive with a luxurious en suite bathroom with a custom marble shower. An additional suite also holds its own en suite, while a guest bedroom and bathroom provide added convenience. You’ll love being centrally located for skiing (30 minutes to Killington or Okemo), hiking (10 minutes to the Appalachian Trail), or visiting two of Vermont’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Bomoseen (25 minutes) or Lake Champlain (30-35 minutes). Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport is served by Cape Air, with frequent flights to Boston connecting to anywhere in the world, making this home an incredibly easy meeting point. <b>Things to Know</b> Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. No dog(s) are welcome in this home. No other animals are allowed without specific Vacasa approval. <br/>Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles. <br/>Air conditioning is only available in certain parts of the home. <br/>Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximun occupancy and quite hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices -not any personal conversation or information. Very nice, somewhat oddly designed house. Everything worked and we had a fine stay. We had to leave early due to a family issue and Vacasa still asked us to take out the garbage, though they also said cleaners were coming that day, which we found strange. In addition, there was no way to fully lock the house - and we had to spend an extra 20-30 additional stressful minutes speaking with a national Vacasa rep on how to resolve this issue. Very frustrating end to a perfectly nice stay.
We needed a space to accommodate 8 people and we found it here! Lots of space and bathrooms which was perfect- kitchen was nice and big for breakfast - just was very good w communication. Highly recommend if you’re in need for a spot to fit a fun group!
Has the potential to be magnificent. Unfortunately, it is in disrepair: exposed light fixture wires, broken light fixtures, visible mold, strange old house smell (I didn’t investigate), lots of spackled/unpainted patches of walls, HVAC filter clearly overdue for change, thermostat in one of the space was dead so we couldn’t even turn the heat on, very dirty dishes/utensils (I ran 2 loads of dishes upon arrival just to catch the place up), exposed carpet tacks that hurt big and little feet alike, etc…the list goes on. While friendly, the management team was clueless - told us to stop using the thermostat that actually worked, didn’t address most of the issues that were raised, didn’t relay our msgs to their local team so I had to bridge communication for them, etc. Lastly, there’s a house rule that asks you to report damages to avoid being charged - near impossible task bc there was so many repairs in progress. Price is low, so may be worth it if you’re willing deal with the rest.
