Well-appointed log cabin at 9000' on Grand Mesa w/ Starlink internet on 72 acres borders National Forest and boasts unmatched views, massive aspen groves, and direct access to West Green Mountain trail (~1/4 mile away from the north edge of the property). This off-grid cabin has running water, full kitchen & nice bathroom w/ shower via solar PV system, propane appliances & backup generator. NO PETS and must have AWD or 4WD vehicle, no exceptions. Owner's personal residence until recently. Cozy and open floorplan is ideal for a couple or up to 4 people. The loft above has a deluxe king size bed facing East for glorious sunrises over the West Elk mountains. The other side of the loft has a trundle bed where the lower twin bed rolls out from underneath the upper twin bed. There is also a standing desk with a Dell docking station and large monitor in the loft. No audible privacy other than the bathroom; everything is open. Pellet stove for heat if needed and backup propane heaters on the main level. Nice live edge furniture throughout (coasters and placemats provided, please use them!) and cherry rocking chairs for watching whatever streaming services you have subscriptions to on the entertainment center. Yes, you can take the rocking chairs onto the deck if they are promptly brought back inside when not in use.

We enjoyed our stay in the remote, cozy cabin. Private, in the woods with a great view. The cabin had everything we needed to make a meal and to watch television & to work remotely. The starlink worked well.
This place is awesome. Truly off-grid. Solar and generator worked seamlessly, spring water well, Starlink Internet, and pretty good cell service to boot. If you're looking for a secluded place away from it all, this is a great option. You can get to the town of Cedaredge in about 15 minutes. You will definetly need to have an AWD or 4WD vehicle.

Super-great place and hosts! I would totally stay again! First, the view is stunning--180 degree views of the valley with far-off mountain ranges, mesa aspen groves--incredible. The current photos do not capture the true granduer, IMHO--know you're in for a real treat! The hosts were incredibly kind, proactive, and made every effort to give clear directions--as a result, we felt entirely confident on how to get there. The linens are fabulous--down pillows, high thread-count sheets and towels--luxurious! The property backs to national forrest. One can walk the trail through the private aspen grove to connect with a secluded trail on national forrest--highly recommend for someone who enjoys quiet, private walks in the forrest. This would be an ideal couple's get-away, or perhaps an artist's retreat or sabattical for the academic who enjoys writing with perfect quiet, an inspiriational view, and solid Starlink intenet. This is remote mountain land with the nearest year-round resident almost a mile away. The nearest town for groceries and such is 25 minutes away.
The roads are dirt and steep in places, you will need AWD or a 4WD vehicle. The roads are not plowed for snow and as such, the listing is currently unavailable mid Nov to late May.

I raise Tibetan yaks (think 3' horns on a shaggy bison type of creature) up in the mountains outside of Boulder, CO when not doing corporate gig or out slashing the powder or running whitewater. The Colorado lifestyle is alive and well and I hope you enjoy your time at one of my properties.
