Nardouw is a new accommodation development that offers a unique off the grid bouldering (27Crags) and outdoor experience. The cabin is situated in a easy access ravine, giving you the ultimate in privacy and isolation from the hustle and bustle of the outside word. Perfect for a two person getaway weekend, or longer. . . The main area consists of the cabin, porch, outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower, outdoor toilet and a braai. In the cabin you will find a king size bed (also available in two single beds), camping fridge/freezer, rechargeable lights, most kitchen essentials, foldable table, chairs and outdoor chairs. The braai is a Classic half drum braai which includes tongs, grid, fire starter, fire lighter and some wood to get you started. (Extra wood for sale) The outdoor kitchen is located on the porch. The kitchen has a basin, double burner and kettle. The outdoor shower is powered by a gas geyser and built into the surrounding rock. The outdoor toilet is a Enviro Loo waterless toilet system that saves a lot of water and prevents waste from leeching into the soil protecting the environment.

Mario is an excellent host, always reacting whenever we had a question. The place is a kind of lovely primitive, a bit like glamping, with an outside shower with hot water and a clean outside toilet. There is a cooking facility and a braai. It looks out over a valley and a river. You do need your own transport to get there, the nearest town is 25km away. And you need data and airtime because there is no wifi. It may be a bit cold in winter, but ideal for the rest of the year. You can drive to nearby hikes and see rock art. And it’s absolutely quiet except for the birds . A great outdoors experience
Lovely, remote stay! Mario was a great guy and the accommodation has everything you need. High quality glamping style with the outdoor shower and loo in the rocks, which I really enjoyed. Swim spot is a 5 min drive down to the sign where you turn in and the river was a stunning cool off in the very hot weather of Clanwilliam during December. Be prepared to experience the heat in the peak summer months because it was absolutely cooking for our stay, both day and night. Can't wait to go back in winter and marvel at the insane view of sunset and sunrise.
Our stay at Nardouw was incredible. The cabin had everything we needed while still being a complete escape from the busy city life. The view of the valley and stars from the cabin are beautiful! Walking around the massive property was even better. The rocks and landscape are intriguing with loads of caves to explore. There is also a wonderful dam to swim in about 10 minutes drive away and the amenities of Clanwilliam are just 30 minutes away. Mario was able to help with anything we needed and was very friendly and relaxed. We will definitely go back soon!
Incredible place. So peaceful and quiet, surrounded by incredible rock formations. The actual cabin is perfect, has all the essentials needed for a stay, mario did an amazing job constructing it. This place is off the charts, so much to do and explore. Highly recommend.
Our stay in this cabin was incredible! Incredibly isolated, peaceful and beautiful scenery. The cabin itself was clean and very spacious - it had everything we needed. There’s so much to do in the area from peaceful walks, hikes, swimming and fishing. Couldn’t recommend this place more and can’t wait to be back! It was amazing. Thanks for the awesome stay Mario!
